Carl Rosati Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

First impression is that he was not really trying to due WLS as a tool for obesity. He answered all questions but told me to go home and think about it some more.
He is an excellent MD. Laid back and explained things as needed them. He visited me everyday in the hospital despite being off for the weekend.
I would highly recommend him!! He is part of the AMC Center for Bariatrics and there is a very structured program.
I believe he excels in both competence and bedside manner which is why I chose him!

Dr Rosati holds his own information meeting with everyone who is considering RNY with him. He does not do lap-band surgery. He is straight forward and pulls no punches. He answers any and all questions. After the information meeting, he has one-on-one patient-doctor sessions. He is very personable and truthful in his answers. He has a no nonsense approach but is not in the least standoffish. I had seen him on the video in the AMC site and was prepared to like him and certainly did. Until lately, he has done only open procedures. He assessed me and since I had no previous abdominal surgery, he decided that I would be a good candidate for a lap procedure. That is what I had.rnDr R visited me in my room every morning apart from the residents. He reviewed the necessity of walking and went over the diet.rnrnI found his staff to be thorough and caring. Nutritional followup is through the Clinical Nutritionist and the RD.rn

In my opinion Dr. Rosati is a cool guy. He tells it like it is, even tries to scare you a little to make sure you know what you are doing. I trust and respect him. I am putting my life into his hands in two days- that is how much.

I choose this Doctor do too the fact he did my moms surgery and I loved him he took such good care of her and if I was going too have this surgery I was going too have him as the doctor My sister,father, friend,and cousin all had another doctor but I didnt care for him at all I love Doctor Rosati with all my heart I know deep in my heart he saved my life and has made it so I can live again I would recommend him totally even with all the problems I had and still seem too have now that I have devolped 2 Ulcers I would do it all over again

My first inpression of him is he is a serious man and if u follow the program it will work. If u do not follow the program he will tell u like it is..rnI think he is a very nice man and his staff is very nice also. They really do a good job at preping you for this surgury.. its alot to think about and u should be well informed.rnrnWell 4-26-07 I had my sugury... and all went well. I could not of asked for a better surgon.. DOC was AWSOME... He has such a SUPER bed side manner... So happy I went with him.rnI have my follow up w\ him a week from this Friday... rnAlso Albany Med was so good to me... I had Awsome care.

Dr. Rosati was excellent, he will tell you straight up everything he is going to do. It maybe scary to hear, but he is very honest. My surgical Consult was about 4 hours but he was very though. During the Surgery he kept my family very well informed about everything that was happening.rnWhen I was in my room at the Hospital Dr. Rosati came by everyday to see How I was doing. He is right there when you need him too. Believe what he tells you and verify with him anything someone else in the hospital has told you. The nurses and the staff and his Staff are very attentive to your concerns. rnI did not have any bad experience with Dr. RosatirnrnrnI just have to add. It has been 8 months since surgery and I have lost over 250 pounds and for the first time on March 26 2007 I was able to jog a mile.rnrnI have never in my life been able to jog a mile

Very informative soft spoken Dr. rnVery professional made it a piont to spend time with me before surgery and came in to see me every am about 7:30. I have had not one issue with my surgery or with Dr. Rosati i would refer him to anyone that is interested in this surgery. His staff are very understanding and very efficient. His program is very structured not only before but after also.

Dr. Rosati is a straight shooter - blunt and to the point. Makes no bones about the procedure's risks and makes you accountable for the benefits. His bedside manner and professionalism is incredible. Even when I had a complication he explained the options and the probable reason for the complication and did not hesitate to bring in a specialist. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Rosati. I would refer anyone to him.

Dr. Rosati is a top shelf surgeon if I have ever seen one. I was married to a nurse for 20 years so I have known a lot of Doctors and this is the guy I want working on my insides. rnAlbany is a Center of Excellenct and I believe he is a major contributor to that rating.

From what I've Dr. Rosati seems like a nice guy and he is a good surgeon. I didn't really like the fact that I have togo through all the stuff first before I get the surgery. The nurse, Nancy is really strict about sticking to all the requirements. I was late to a meeting and i had to reschedule-boy was I mad!! I hope to have surgery at Albany Med, but if I don't I will go to probably Ellis or St. Peters, where things aren't so hard. My doctor said that they do the surgery at both these hospitals now.
