Carl Rosati Bariatric Surgeon M.D.
I met Dr. Rosati a couple of months ago. Myself and 3 other people that were interested in the bypass surgery met with Dr. Rosati in a group setting. He spoke to us for about 3 1/2 hours. He answered all of our questions. He covered all the risks and the benefits of having the surgery. After the group meeting Dr. Rosati met with each of us one on one. After spending 4 hours with Dr. Rosati I knew he was the man to do my surgery.rnThe day of surgery, 7-27-06, Dr. Rosati came and spoke with me before surgery. He also went out and gave my family the update after the surgery. He came to my room everyday while i was in the hospital. He looked directly into my eyes when he spoke with me and gently placed his hand on my arm. He really cares about each of his patients. rnWhen I went to my first post-op appointment, I was exhausted. It seemed like everything took sooo much energy out of me. I told Dr. Rosati this, he assured me that this is normal. He reminded me that I had just had major surgery and it will take me about 4 weeks till I feel like me old self again.
Dr Rosati is a kind, gentle, serious, down to earth, highly knowledgable surgeon. He took over 3 hours talking with my husband and I, and reviewing all of the potential risks and complications as well as the benefits of surgery. I didn't feel like he was at all trying to "sell it" to me. I felt both comforted by his skill and knowledge and humbled by the enormity of this surgery. He was reassuring, but not falsely so. I feel totally comfortable putting my life in his hands. There is not a single thing that I have to say negatively about him. His office staff is accomodating and helpful. The Albany Med Bariatric Program is somewhat new, but they have an organized support group and nutritional support which they strongly encourage their patients to continue to participate in. A+ so far.
I loved him.
He is kind and easy going, patient and supportive. He was very calming and I had no anxiety at all going into surgery.
I can't find anything bad to say about him, he even fixed a hernia I didn't know I had while I was on the table.
He was very realistic about the risks, and very thorough relaying ALL the facts, options, and possibilities and why I was a good/bad candidate for certain options.
His surgical competence is well known, even among other surgeons, and his bedside manner is priceless.
I was taken aback by his pony tail and was a little afraid of his young age. I talked to other patients and they were very pleased. His office staff were very nice and helpful. I liked everything about this doctor. There is nothing I did not like except for Albany Medical Center itself. Looks are deceiving for this doctor. He was very open and upfront on what to expect. I give him all the recommendation in the world. I think he is highly skilled with a great bedside manner. I never felt uncomfortable talking about anything that concerned me.
