I just want to Thank Dr Abkin for changing my Life! I used to be a fat man... now I'm loosing weight and getting my LIFE back. Thank You for helping me to realize this was possible and for giving me the tool to make it happen! I've lost 80 pounds in three months and hope to drop another 80! You motivated me, You believed in Me, and for that I THANK YOU!

I already had gastric bypass and initially did good with it. After having my children... i found old eating habits creeping back into my life. Just when i thought there was no help I met someone who had used Dr Abkin's Group. They invited me to a support group and i got my head back in the game.
I am now scheduled to have a Band over Bypass with Dr. Abkin and can't wait to start my journey all over. This time with the help of his Support Group I will stay focused and get the job done! Thank you to Dr Abkin and his support staff for being my angels!

I had meet Dr.Abkin in a seminar,and I counld't thank him enough for my life change. My surgery date for gastric bypass was April 30, 2012 and I weighed in at 347lbs. Today August 28,2012 was my 3 month post op vist and I weighed in at 275lbs. I fell totally like a new person,beautiful,healthy and full of energy that I haven't had in years. Dr.Abkin and his team work very hard to make people success in there life changes before and after surgery. My experience with ALS was excellent. Dr. Abkin is a compassionate physician and a gifted surgeon. The comprehensive program covers everything you need to know and the support groups are very good. Most impressive is the follow up care that includes an annual check up. I lost 110 lbs and have kept it off for 7 years by following the program. I can only give this program and Dr. Abkin my highest recommendations.

June 17, 2011 I had a Gastric bypass performed by Dr Alexander Abkin. I was scared leading up to the surgery, but his team at JFK , Edison, NJ was fabulous! They put things into perspective, they helped with a diet plan, they reminded me when I needed blood work. They made sure I was both mentally and physically prepared for the surgery. Dr Abkin's performed the surgery with his team and I was as happy post surgery as anyone having gone through this could be. I took no pain managment drugs after the removal of the pump (pain management) and I was walking the same day. Dr Abkin is a warm and kind person, he smiles at you and tells it like it is. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I still have some weight to loose, but I have lost in a year ~120 lbs... I started at 268 and now am 150. I have been thinking about Weight Loss Surgery for a while now. But after speaking to a co-worker who had the Bypass with Dr. Abkin and seeing how well that person is doing I finally made the decision and came to Meet Dr Abkin myself.
He is a great guy! His office was set up to deal with people "OF SIZE" life myself. He made me feel very comfortable and made it easy to discuss my sitauation and what benefits i could expect with weight loss surgery.

I couldn't thank Dr. Abkin enough for such a positive life changing experience. My surgery date for lap band was april 17th 2012 I weighed in at 230 lbs. Today, may 3rd 2012 was my 2 week post op visit and I weighed in at 208 lbs. I feel amazing,beautiful,healthy and full of energy that I haven't had in years! Dr. Abkin was hand in hand with me from begining to the end. From the million and one questions to multiple consult visits he never let me down. I was so excited today at my visit that I hugged him saying " thank you I truly couldn't have done this with out you". It's the truth. I also want to add that every single staff member nurse,receptionist, insurance (heather you were great), Trish the nurse practioner, everyone is extremely helpful and will always be there for you. Dr. Abkin is my hero! The decision to have bariatic surgey was made so much more easier after meeting with Dr. Abkin. He is a caring person in conjunction with being a skilled surgeon and medical doctor. I found it so comforting that he talks to you so that you understand the process you will be going through. His office staff is excellent. Everyone makes you feel that you are the most important person who has waked into the office. I knew so much about my surgery that I felt so comfortable with the procedure. Every step of the process is thoroughly explained to you. If you have any questions, they are answered until you are satidfied. Dr. Abkin will recommend other physicians if you need them regarding any other health issues you might have. The follow-up from his office staff is wonderfal. I am beginning my new life journey and I can not thank Dr. Abkin enough.

I want to Thank Dr Abkin for coming to my rescue. I'm only 40 and I wasn't sure how long I would live...would i even see my next big milestone? Doctor Abkin preformed the vertical sleeve gastrectomy procedure on me in May 2011. He was a great surgeon to have and will work with you to make sure that you get all the care that you need. Additionally the staff at Dr. Abkins office was amazing. The insurance department will do everything they can to make sure you get your surgery. Advanced Laproscopics of Morris provided an extremely supportive environment and I am so thankful for everything they have done.
