I was so happy to find you were now Hackettstown. I came to your seminar and already have my consult scheduled for this week. I have to say I have thought and thought about weight Loss Surgery but have not been able to take a stand and actually meet with a doctor. Then I heard friends talking about Dr Abkin and how he was such a caring surgeon that I had to check him out.
I was So happy that I did. I attended Dr Abkin's Seminar last week and not only do I feel more confident about having Weight Loss Surgery... I actually have a Consult scheduled with him for next week. Thank You Dr Abkin for making me feel at ease and for helping me to understand how these procedures work. My Realize Band surgery went great and after one month I am down 30 lbs. I can honestly say I will have a Happy New Year thanks to Dr. Abkin.

I am a patient of Dr Abkin. My gastric bypass surgery took place a little over 2 weeks ago. The surgery was successful and I had little pain, discomfort or inconvenience. I was working from home after 1 week and doing Christmas baking after 1-1/2 weeks. Dr Abkin and his staff managed all preparation I needed for the surgery (insurance, etc). At times it was a small challenge to have phone questions responded to, but overall the staff, though busy, handled everything well. My thanks to the doctor and his staff for assisting me through this time.

Dr. Abkin did an excellent job. No complications to speak of. Office staff was professional and courteous and really helped me deal with the insurance hurdles (even amidst Hurricane Sandy).

Dr. Abkin is a NJ Top Doc and has been for many years. I felt that from his pre-surgery consults through to his post surgical office visits, he has always been kind and helpful and honest. And in my mind there is no doubt that the honors bestowed upon him for his surgical acumen are much deserved. In short...he put in a Realize band, and didn't leave his watch behind (which would be tough to do laproscopically!

I just wanted to take a moment to give a special thanks to a special Man... Dr Alexander Abkin. I was encouraged by a friend to tag along at a seminar where Dr Abkin was speaking and he made me feel so comfortable that I am now hoping to have my weight loss surgery with him in the beginning of the new year. I have known that I needed to take control back in my life.. but until I sat in on his seminar I didn't understand how Weight Loss Surgery can help me to do that. I had my initial consult with him and met with his Insurance Specialist, Heather, and now i'm getting me evals done and preparing for a REAL NEW YEAR! Thank You Dr Abkin for helping me to make the right choice!

I just want to say that Dr Abkin is a Wonderful Person. After putting much thought into this decision, and going to several different doctors, meeting him and sitting in on his presentation was the first time i felt like I am ready to move forward. I can't explain it, other to say after getting educated and listening to him answer everones questions at his seminar all my fears melted away and my new attitude was WHEN CAN WE DO THIS!

It was around my 28th birthday when I finally recognized that I was seeking deeper and deeper into depression from many things including my weight. After some journaling and talking to a firend, I decided that weight loss surgery was what I wanted to do because even though my weight was only one of my problems, it was the only thing that I could take control of. I had tried other diets like everyone and everything worked...until I stopped following that program to the most minute details.

When I decided to have weight loss surgery, I told my dad and he was supportive. My mom, not so much. I took her to a seminar with Dr. Abkin and not only did he answer every unanswered question I had after doing countless hours of research, but he also gave my mom a lot of answers to her questions as a concerned parent. His presence and confidence in the room made both of us extremely comfortable with him. He sat down and talked to us one on one after the seminar to talk about some things I had concerns about but was maybe a little embarrassed to ask because of my age in the group. Of course like any person should do, I went with my mom and met with other surgeons, but none of them made us feel as comfortable as Dr. Abkin did.

I went for my initial consultation and knew in the examining room that Dr. Abkin was the surgeon for me. His office guided me through the process, which was actually a lot easier than I thought and although the waiting was the worst part, they encouraged me that everything would be okay.

After my surgery, Dr. Abkin showed up and asked how I felt and told me what to expect and I felt very confident leaving that day that I had not only chose the right surgeon but that I had chosen a surgeon who actually cared that I succeeded after I left the hospital that day.

Since my surgery, I have been to Dr. Abkin's office and he answers any and all new questions I have because this is a journey and not the easiest to adjust to.

If anyone were ever to consider having this surgery, not only would I encourage it under the correct circumstances, but I would also highly recommend Dr. Abkin and his staff as the people to help guide you on this journey.

Dr Abkin is the man-no doubt-From start to finish he's a true professional.Had my surgery July 23,2012 in Morristown.I was there w/my mom.Since she doesnt drive,Dr Abkin made special arrangements for us to be in a private room @ no additional charge.Was out of the hospital in 2 days w/only minor discomfort.Its been alittle over a month and Im already down 40lbs.My diabetes is also gone.Cant thank you enough buddy!-God bless you my friend!

Dr Abkins passion for bariatric surgeory is completely realized during the first meeting with him. He is completely sure of his abilities in a nonarrogant but confident manner, which made me feel like I selected the correct surgeon for my situation. He is extremely thorough in his explanations, has great bedside manners and if I were to have this surgeory again I would only recommend DR. Abkin.
