I cannot say enough about Doctor Abkin. I had two operations. The first done in April 2013 to remove my Lap Band that was put in 7 years ago by another Doctor. That Lap Band never worked and I finally decided to get it removed. I found Doctor Abkin from my general Doctor. Dr. Abkin made me feel comfortable on choosing to remove my lap band which was a good call. When it was removed it was on not in the correct place and the tubing was attached to my liver. On July 15 I had Gastric Bypass and I am very happy. His cut marks are a work of art. I told him I could not believe how small they were and he did good work...he laughed and looked and said "Yes I did". He is all for his patient. He made sure in the hospital I got the correct care and needs. I had my first follow up and he took his time with me to answer all my questions. Anyone looking for a great doctor I highly recommend Dr. Abkin. He has helped my get on the right track to my heath. He also has a wonderful staff and his RN Pat is wonderful as well.

I Can't believe that I lost the weight in One Winter and NOW I AM ENJOYING OUTDOORS and SUMMER FUN. Last year I would not have even gone outside.. Now I love lounging by my pool with Friends! You gave me back my Life . Thank You So Much!

I am a man of few words... but I am So Happy with myself i felt a need to share it with others. I had Gastric Bypass with Dr Abkin. He is a wonderful man and an Excellent Doctor. He made me feel comfortable and his staff walked through the steps with me and gave me the confidence I needed to move forward with Surgery. Once I had the surgery I lost 35 pounds first month and I was off and running. I am SO Happy and So Motivated... now the sky is the limit. I am getting my Health Back and can Enjoy my Life.

Thanks to Dr Abkin and his office Staff... I am ready to say Goodbye to Hotmess and Hello HotMama!
I have thought about weight Loss Surgery for a while and and now that my surgery is fast approaching I am jumping for joy. I had to wait for my 6 month notes to be done. But the time flew by and i had to do the other evals so it all worked out great. My surgery is next week. Thanks to everyone in his office for making the process easy to understand and helping me get through it. I also need to Thank Dr Abkin for being so compassionate. He is AWESOME. I can't wait for my official Weight Loss Journey to begin!

I had the gastric sleeve done on August 7, 2012 and throughout the whole process Dr. Abkin and his staff were very supportive and helped me along the way. It is a very scary and important decision to make and not once was I pressured or felt like I was alone. I go for all of my checkups and the routine blood work and I was surprised to find out that Dr. Abkin actually made the time to meet with my primary doctor as well. I don't think I would have gone through with any of it if they all didn't make the process so much easier. I am down 66 lbs to date and it has slowed down a little but I feel much healthier. I have no regrets at all and I would recommend him to anyone.

Thank You Doctor Abkin for giving me back my Love of the Spring Time and more importantly LIFE! Ten years ago I was in a car accident that left me with Back Pain. As the years have gone on i have become less active and gained more and more weight.
Winters had become an excuse for me to hibernate and that really just made my life worse. I used to love Spring and this year I am so excited for it again!
Last fall I took a brave step out of my house to attend one of Dr Abkin's Seminars. It changed my Life! He changed my Life! Even though this winter was another cold one... having had my surgery seem to give me new energy and i was so motivated after dropping 30 pounds the first month after my surgery! Now Spring is here.. I'm down 78 pounds and still loosing... I look forward to getting outside and walking and already my back pain is getting better!
Thank you to everyone in Dr Abkin's office for helping me to get everything done so i could move forward. But especially to Dr Abkin for giving me Hope, Taking Great Care of Me, and being a great cheerleader! This is the Best Spring I've had and I'm excited to see what the Summer will bring!

Thank You Dr Abkin.... I'm usually depressed... but thanks to you and your staff I am actually looking forward to SPRING this year. I had my Bypass in Sept and have lost 70 pounds so far. I can't wait to go shopping for a new Easter Outfit! My family and friends will be shocked at how far I have come in such a short time. This has been LIFE Changing! Thank You for being a Caring Person and to your staff for helping me to get done what I needed. Without the Surgery I would be lost! Thank You for all that you do!

As time has gone on, I realize more and more what an excellent surgeon Dr.Abkin is. Some people have told me that they were not treated too well by their doctors after their first follow up visit (I guess that's like...okay...you're okay...I'm done with you) and then they see the nurse when they go. Not with Dr. Abkin. I guess if you want more flexibility, you can see another doctor or the physician assistant, but he's just as happy to see you himself. He is such a pleasure to work with on this journey...you truly need the support and caring of a good surgeon.

I recall the slightest bit of fear just before I was given my pre-surgery sedative (ha! after that happy med who cares?) and I was a little anxious; I just wanted to see my doctor before surgery and time was getting short. But, in walked Dr. Abkin and smiled at me, asked if I had any questions or concerns....I took his two hands and said something like God bless these hands....I felt right then and there a connection...and a great peaceful feeling that I was going to be just fine. There is a lot to be said for the look in someone's face, and the calm demeanor one has before such a monumental moment such as surgery; changing someone's body. That seems like such a long time ago....but it was the best thing I've ever done for myself.

This was the BIGGEST Decision I have ever made, Literally and Figuratively! Thank You Dr Abkin and your entire staff for helping me through this process which gave me a TOOL that I could work with to give me back my Health. As you can see by the name i chose... it's working... pounds are MELTING OFF! I had Gastric Bypass a Year ago and just had my Annual check up... All is great and I'm down 120 pounds! YES... I do have to make the right choices... but as I learned from your program.... sticking to the rules getting in my protein and fluids every day... I can be successful. My New Healthier Life is Awesome. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
