Dr. Ikramuddin is my angel. He has an excellent track record and great bedside manner. I liked him right away because he seemed down to earth. He's not pompous. When I first started my journey there was a new assistant in the office. She was kind of grumpy. Then she left and the one there now is so nice.
The greatest thing the doc did for me was telling post op that the hard part was just beginning. He came in my room and sat down for just a few minutes. I knew he was bone tired and that made it mean so much more. I don't know that I would have started on an exercise program without those words from him. He told me that I needed to get my heart rate up to see good results.
There are many competent surgeons out there but I don't know that many have the level of professionalism AND compassion that Dr. I has.
On a scale of 1-10 I would HONESTLY rate him a 10.

dI only met him briefly after the seminar. He seemed very confident that I was a good candidate. I have alot of fears and he thought it was understandable, but assured me everything would be fine. His office has also been extremely nice and helpful.

I found him to be very kind and honest. He tells you the risks and answers all questions well. Very busy and always in a hurry. He requires an extensive psych eval prior to getting a surgery date, in addition to any other testing you might need like a sleep study, etc. I have not seen him since before my surgery- only his assistants, both post-op in the hospital and for follow-up appointments. His staff are great.

He was very good. He took the time to explain what choices I had, the risks and what I could expect to happen.
Its now 10 months post op and I would do it all over again in a heart beat!

I had a great first impression of Dr. Ikramuddin and that has only improved over time and after the surgery and the past year of some additional problems and having to go in for additional surgery. He is a great doctor and he seems to be geniune and very concerned with you. He has a very good bedside manner and helps to ease any anxiety that you may have.
Overall, I am not sure you could find a better surgeon!

His office staff is just OK....and someone at the front desk not ok....except for Joni. She is awesome and is so helpful and caring and will answer all your questions and will return your calls and make you feel so much better.

The things that I think the program could improve upon is giving more detailed information on all the risks. (This may have changed since I am a year out now.)More information on how to get your first labs done at 6 months so that your surgeon has the results in front of him during your appt.

Met Dr Ikramuddin on Nov 20th for about 10 minutes if that. He had a nice and concerned demenor and gave me a list of items that need to be completed before surgery.

I have to say I was impressed with Dr. Ikramuddin from the moment I met him. He has the kindest face and gentlest manner. I know I am in the best hands possible. I agree with previous posts about disorganization among office staff. Try to talk to Danette, or Joanie and you will get more help.

My first Impression of Dr.Ikramuddin is that he is a very gentle and sweet doctor. he took time on my first visit to answer questions and I did not feel rushed at all. My impression has not changed of him at all. His office staff are very busy but nice. It is hard to get a live voice over the phone. But due to the large amount of patients he has I can totaly understand. Future patients should Expect to be a little aggressive about getting a surgery date once all requirements are completed. Overall I'm very satisfied!

My first impression of Dr. Ikramuddin was surprising to me. He was not what I expected. He was friendly, direct and willing to answer all my questions which were not the usual. His staff was friendly too. At first, I expected this was like an assembly line but that didn't last long. Dr. Ikramuddin didn't act as though he was eager to go on to the next patient, he took his time and allowed me to ask all of my questions. I was impressed. The information from the doctor and staff was comprehensive and educational. It made making my final decision easier. The personal one on one with the doctor and the group orientation was obviously well put together. Overall, it releived my fears and offered me a positive outlook for surgery.
UPDATE:
Had my surgery 10-8-03 Laproscopic RNY --
Everything went wonderfuly! I am now one week post op and have been told I can eat anything that is pureed. I came home and had some chicken, mashed potatoes with cream of mushroom gravy, and carrots. Had no problems such as dumping. Best meal I ever ate! My scars hardly show and I have lost 22LBS. What more could I ask for? Dr. Ikramuddin did a wonderful job! I would recomend him to anyone considering this surgery.
