Dr John Kelly is the most amazing Doctor I have ever met.rnHe is compassionate, caring and makes you feel safe.rnI would recommend this man to anyone he is a Gift and is truly skilled in what he does.rnHis staff is just as caring and they take their time to explain and listen.rnThey were very thorough in explaining everything I was going to go through and make it a point to ask me if I did not understand anything.rnMOST importanly they made me feel like they truly cared and Dr Kelly held my hand and calmed me down and made me feel like I was in the BEST of hands and I wasrnrnThank you Dr Kelly for giving me a second chance at life againrnrnI rate him a 10

Dr. Kelly spent as much time with me as I needed. He was very honest and answered all my questions thoroughly. There is a very excellent Surgical Nurse Practitioner who also works on the team - she is great too.

I met with dr Kelly In Sept 2003.He seamed like a kind man and some one who really cares about you and what you are saying, so with everything i've heard about him I put my life in his skillfull hands.

I was really impressed with Dr. Kelly , I 1st met him at the hospitals wls meeting, he answered all questions and did not try to sugar coat anything and when the meeting was over he offered to stay and answer any questions we had in private. In the hospital he checked in on me and made me feel like he was really concerned on how I was doing, he is really great. I would recommend anyone in Ma. to go to him

I was very impressed with him. He looks directly in your eyes when he is speaking to you and answers any questions you have thoroughly. The only thing that changed about the way I feel about him is that I got to see his sense of humor as well. His office staff was very professional, knowledgable and freindly. Honestly, there was nothing about him that I did not like. Future patients should know that he is a great surgeon. He emphasizes that the aftercare is crucial. He expects you to stick with the program/goals that are set for your nutritional needs. He tells you that the surgery is only a tool and that you need to stick to the aftercare program in order to succeed. All the risks of the surgery are addressed several times throughout the program at UMASS Memorial and also when you meet with Dr. Kelly. rnrnI would rate him as Awesome!!rnrnBoth his surgical competence and bedside manner are great. rnrnI really have nothing bad to say about him. I had to fight with and change my insurance company and he and the staff were very supportive throughout my whole experience. It took almost two years because of the insurance issue and I am very pleased with the fact that they stuck by me and encouraged me not to give up.

Stayed home from vacation an extra day to do the second surgery and checked on me the rest of the time. I did see him the morning that I was discharged.

Surgical competence and bedside manner were both great

He seems like a very nice person and a confident surgeon. The staff is terriffic I can't praise them enough. I think he informed me very well and explain the risk full and made me well aware of them, at the same time made me feel confident in his preformance of surgery. I haven't had surgery yet but from what I know of him from meeting him he is very nice and I fell very well informed.
