I LOVE DR KELLY!!! No complaints at all. He explained everything to me in detail and things happened just as he said they would. Surgery went very smoothly and 5 days later I am feeling great. He even took time out to sit with my husband and daughter after my surgery to go over things and answer all thier questions. I am very happy I chose Dr Kelly to perform my surgery.

I finally decided upon Lap Band. I meet my surgeon once for initial surgery consult in regards to what I wanted. When I went back in for my pre-op testing the NP saw me. I had the surgery on June 19, 2007. I saw my surgeon for a couple of minutes prior to surgery but nothing after. I heard he followed up but didn't see him in recovery room. Maybe that is ony with gastric bypass patients - not sure - but disappointed he didn't come in to verbally check in on me. My next appointment is post surgery @ 2 weeks. I hope I see him then. My personal opinion is still up in the air.

My first impression of Dr. John J. Kelly was that he is a very kind, compassionate, caring human being. He takes whatever time is needed with the patient to answer all questions that arise. He encourages patients to attend the monthly support group. He's a very dedicated man who really cares about the well being of his patients. He is an outstanding surgeon who wants his patients to be well informed before making this drastic decision to have surgery. His office coordinates an excellent aftercare program with the professsionals on the team, including himself. He actually takes the time out of his schedule to be at every support group meeting.rn7/3/00 Well, I'm finally \"on the other side\". I had an excellent experience with Dr. Kelly in the hospital. A few times he was very \"tough\" on me, but it was indicated at the time. Even though he could be tough on me, he was at the same time very supportive, caring and compassionate, always looking out for my best interest. He really is a gift to those of us living in central Massachusetts. I'd rate Dr. Kelly with 5 stars.

When I meet with Dr. Kelly I was very pleased with his openess. My husand and I felt very comfortable with the way he handled all our questions and we did not feel rushed. His staff has been helpful with my our needs with insurance and any other issues that have come up in with my process.

Dr. Kelly was very low key but very willing to spend as much time as I needed to help me make my decision regarding lap-band or bypass. I had gone through the entire program and had \"graduated\" to the stage where I qualified to see a surgeon. He and his nurse practioner helped me decide what was best for me. My surgery went well and his bedside manor was fine. I picked him because he was the head of the department at UMASS and had an excellent track record. You will wait longer to have the surgery because he is in demand. He is both technically competent and a good guy, what we all want in our surgeons.rnrnIf I have anything negative it would be the wait. The program took me 15 months to go through and that was in part because they lost my chart and the other because I needed to wait a few months for Dr. Kelly.rnrn

First saw Dr. Perugini on September 27, 2006. Spoke with his intern first, who spent about 1/2 hour with me giving me all the info about the surgery, including everything that could possibly go wrong (Yikes!) and answering any questions I had. Don't remember his name - nice, informed, I was comfortable with him. Dr. Perugini came in next and spent about 2 minutes with me. Got good vibes and all, but I would have liked for him to seem as though he was a bit more interested in me as an individual. Kind of felt like he was speeding through just to get on to more important matters. It's OK though, what's key is that he's got a reputation at the weight clinic as an incredible surgeon, and that's what is most important to me. Kind of.rnrnSaw Dr. Perugini again on November 8 after my day of pre-op testing. He spent a bit more time with me (emphasis on A BIT), really, same impression as before.rnrnThe large and diverse staff is incredible - friendly, helpful, right there for you with answers to any questions, solutions to any problems. Very positive and encouraging.rnrnFYI - I know 3 people who have had Dr. Perugini as their surgeon and all would choose him again.rnrnUPDATE - Called Dr. Perugini with a question about my gall bladder (3 days before surgery). He returned my call within 1/2 hour and spent 10 minutes on the phone with me - Definitely a plus in Dr. Perugini's rating, in my opinion.
