Arkansas Bariatric Surgery Bariatric Center
Dr. Gibbs is so wonderful and so caring.I would have him do my surgery over again in a heartbeat.
Dr. Gibbs office and nursing staff are tops. They have been very helpful in anything I have needed them for.
Dr.Gibbs is so honest in every answer he gives you. He's the best....
For anyone wanting to have gastric bypass,Dr Gibbs is your man.He will tell you up front that there are risks for this type of surgery.I can't emphasize enough how honest and loyal he is to his patients.HE IS A 10+ in my book.
Dr. Gibbs surgical competence and bedside manner are next to none. They are as awesome as he himself.
Dr. Mark Gibbs you rock!!!
06/11/02 I have not yet met with Dr. Gibbs. Although his office staff has very much impressed me. I have only delt with his main office staff and they have been wonderful. I am scheduled to attend his seminar on July 5 so I am hoping that I will soon be on the other side.
08/10/02 I met Dr. Gibbs on July 5 at his seminar. He seems very "concerned" about the obese. I really did like him. My mother who attended with me (who also got the loan to make this happen) attended the seminar with me. She went looking for a flaw in Dr. Gibbs so she could use it as an excuse for me not to have the surgery and left completely reasured. My dad who was not supportive of the surgery also attended and was reasured also. I have not meet one on one with him yet and will not till 2 days before my surgery. (This is because I am 4 hours away from his office) But I will write more about him after that.
12/15/02 Dr. Gibbs is a wonderful surgeon. I was very impressed with his bedside manner and his caring attitude. I never got the impression that he blamed me for being so overweight.
Dr. Gibbs was a pretty nice man. He seemed very confindent in his ablitiy to do this surgery. This was the first time, i've meet him. The office staff was amazing, i've called a few times with questions and always got the answers. I can't think of anything i didn't like about dr gibbs. Dr. Gibbs is good surgeon. Aftercare was a big part of the converstion we had. Yes, there was a structed aftercare program. Dr. Gibbs was very truthfull about the risks and benifit of the surgery. I don't have anything to rate him against, but he was a wonderful doctor.
I have not met Dr. Gibbs. His practice is in Little Rock, AR and I live in Kansas City. All of the surgeons in my area were completely out of my price range. Dr. Gibbs office worked hard to get my insurance approval, but it was denied. All of my information has given over the phone or through the mail. I will have my consoltation the day before my surgery which will be in Jan. Dr. Gibbs fees and the hospital fees were within my ability to pay.I have reserched him and his practice and I have spent this past year reading and learning about WLS. I'm excited to move forward in my decision for surgery.
Dr. Gibbs is wonderful. He is not the type to sugar coat this procedure. He tells it like it is....the good...the bad...the ugly. His staff is incrediable from insurance,Kay, to his nurse, Kerry. I have never left a message and not had a return call within the day. I will tell you this.....Dr. Gibbs insist you do as you are told. The seminar that Dr. Gibbs and his satff offer is a great way to become well informed about this surgery as well as obiesty as a disease. Aftercare is must. We are strongly incouraged to join a support group.
I have yet to meet Dr. Gibbs. I went to the seminar last month, however it was being hosted by Dr. Kerry Ozment the head of the bariatric center.
The staff at the bariatric center has been more wonderful than I could ever describe. Judy in particular; she has been there to answer every question that I could possibly come up with. She is also the one who processed all of the information for my insurance and helped me with my appeal. If it were not for her support I would have most likely given up.
I have met Dr Gibbs once, but was very impressed. He seemed confident but laid back at the same time. I am scheduled to meet with him again the day before surgery scheduled 8/21/02. I have also been very impressed with his assistant, Ashley, a non-surgical nurse. She is very friendly and has helped me in many ways.
He was professional and answered all questions.
Staff is prompt and professional. He did not visit me after surgery. Was out of town. No support group that I am aware of. Surgery skill is very important and he was able to impart confidence in his skills but was quick to discuss any concerns about problems with the surgery.
I went to Dr. Gibbs' seminar at Baptist on April 26th. There were about 25 people there that he lectured to. He took plenty of time to answer individual questions. He was very knowledgeable and seemed to be a perfectionist when it comes to the RNY surgery - which is great!!!!! His nurse, Ashley, has been very helpful and has returned every phone call promptly. I meet with Dr. Gibbs for a one-on-one consultation about 2 weeks before surgery.
