Arkansas Bariatric Surgery Bariatric Center
I was very impressed with his confidence in his ablities as a surgeon; he calmed a lot of my fears. Carrie, his nurse, is very nice and knowledgeable about what to expect and she also makes herself available when you need her. I would reccomend my doctor to anyone thinking about having this surgery.
My first impression of Dr. Gibbs was wonderful. I thought he was very knowledgeable and shot from the hip. He let you know right off the risks of this surgery, and drills it into your head that this is a life-changing surgery. His office staff was the greatest. Carrie will go out of her way to take care of you!! Dr. Gibbs has great beside manner and is an excellent surgeon. All in all, on a scale of 1-10 I'd give Dr. Gibbs a 20!!!
Dr. Gibbs is great. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor of staff. His staff was always available and they helped me out tremendously! My first impression of hi was just over alla great guy he was laid-back and he didn't sugar-coat anything he told you like it was. I had to attend his seminar before I could even get a surgery date. lemme tell ya it was awesome any question you have ever had he answered completly with a slide show! =) I would rate Dr. Gibbs on a scale of 1-10 I give him at least a 12!

Dr Gibbs is such a Great surgeon! He is very concerned about his patients and makes you feel so safe and in good hands! I learned from vital resources at the Baptist Memorial Hosptial, That he has a very good tract record and what questions people should ask the surgeon they want to do their Bariactric Surgery. 1. What is their Complication rate post Op, do they have? 2. How many Leaks have they had. 3. How many years experince or how many types of Surgery have they done? 4. How many patients have they lost?
Dr Gibbs is Highly recommended and did a wonderful job for me. I came through my surgery ok. Kerry his nurse will return calls on priority bases. If your in the hosptial and recent patient she will call imediatly. I had some problems on the Floor of the surgical unit I was on. And I called the office and they took care of it right away!
haven't meet him yet
My first impression of Dr. Gibbs was WOW! I can't think of anything negative to say about him or his staff. He was very sure to tell us everything he possibly could about the surgery in his seminar and answered any question that was asked. I would highly recommend Dr. Giibs to anyone. He is very down to earth and really cares about his patients. I would give Dr. Gibbs a 10 in my book... I've had 3 friends go through the same surgery with Dr. Gibbs and they feel the same.. He is A great Doctor.
All I can say is he is the "BOMB" gentelman all the way around!!!! He truely saved my life:)
The Staff too was awesome I have no complaints what so ever.
For future patients ...Don't sweat the small stuff. Everybody is different in personality and feelings. I think people should quit being so easily offeneded by toughen up. The world has enough whiners let's not add to the population.
If you don't do what the Dr. and staff tell you, you will have problems. Remember they have done this thousands of time and your only doing it once.....now who would know more???
He told me point blank the things that could happen.
Like I said he and his staff are the bomb!!!!!
While my husband ws deployed to the Middle East, my orginal surgeon wanted to postpone my scheduled surgery. Dr. Mark Gibbs and his staff was kind enough to "work me in" on the Monday following my orginal surgery date. This was a God send as I had arranged for my in-laws to come out and help me with my 6 yr old son after the surgery. My parents also came to help and had taken vacation time to do so. Dr. Gibbs and his staff are the BEST!!
My first impression of Dr. Bosquez, was one of competency. He knew just what he was talking about. I had done my homework previous to the first meeting. I only had one question that he could not answer. That was "What are the staff infection rates at the hospital (south crest) where I will be having the surgery. He did not know off the top of his head...but he knew the phone number where I could call..(that he did know off the top of his head) I'll bet my next peice of cake, that he knows that information by now. What impressed me most about Dr. B was the previous posting from Nurses, and relatives of Nurses that work in the same hospital that he does... Now, when someone like that gives a good reference, I take that reference over many others. His staff was wonderful. I came into the office for the initial consultation in tears, (Tulsa traffic) and they calmed me down (I almost never cry or get upset) and Dr. B did not start the meeting with out me. They gave me some water, and held my hand. Not really necessary, but a wonderful gesture. He explained everything, and even went over a few things that I had not thought of. I think that I was most impressed by one major thing.... He has a walking group for his patients on Saturday morning at the Mall (I think) HE goes with them... Now any DR. that gives up his Satruday morning for his patients...Well enough said... I have not had the surgery as of yet, but I would rather have this surgery done by him than any of the other surgeons that I have met.
What I liked least about him... He was skinny. (I am jellious of most skinny people)
He did state that he has had one death in the 200 or so patients that he has done this procedure on. He has been a surgeon for 25 years or so. He was at one time in practice with Dr. G in Tulsa. One of the girls in my support group in this area (North West Arkansas) used Dr. B for her surgeon. He called her the night before the surgery, and came to see her in the hospital several times that first day.
Please email me with any questions that I have not already answered.
My second Dr was needed due to insurance changes. He is Dr Mark Gibbs of Little Rock.
I cant say enough about this surgeon. His presentation on the RNY procedures and DS are very detailed. He has had no deaths with this surgery to date, and only 2 patients with leaks. Both of thoes were paitents with previous WLS's and were revisions. I feel very comfortable with this surgeon. He has sent me to a Hematoligst for blood work before surgery. This has really helped me out to understand my blood issues, and the blood thinners that I will be needing for surgery.
