1st impression: He was very informative at the session he gave about the surgery.

I was still very pleased while meeting him for my consult the day before surgery.

Carrie is EXCEPTIONAL and on the ball for his only nurse dealing with his bariatric patients.

I was not very pleased with his bedside manners at the 4-5 wk post op visit. He was running behind schedule and we had to drive 3 1/2 - 4 hours to get to the 10-15 min appt. and he was very rushed. I do give him credit for taking the time to answer my list of question (5-7) and the questions of my roommate. The impression she got from him was: "He did his part and was through with me and the rest was up to me". That's what she got out of this appt. I go back on 12/13/05 for my 6-7 month follow-up. I don't look forward to the long drive and hope to do my 1 year post op through my local primary care doctor (who has been very supportive of my choice to have the bariatric surgery).

Dr. Gibbs does have an aftercare program but since I am not from the Little Rock area this was not an option for me. I took it upon myself to get involved with the Bariatric Support Group that meets in Rogers on a monthly basis. I had been told about this group through my Diabetic Educator and attended 1-2 mtgs prior to my surgery (& got info about drs from various members)which helped me find a physician and then make an informed decision based on a number of factors.

Yes, Dr. Gibbs addressed the risks of surgery at the seminar I attended and at my consultation too.

On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the highest rating), I would rate him as a 10+ as a surgeon and about a 6-7 for his bedside manners. To me surgical competence is the most important factor....but it sure would be icing on the cake (what a figure of speach to use) if your surgeon just happens to have both. That makes it even that much better.

I couldnt have made a better choice when it comes to my surgeon and his office staff. Dr. Gibbs is awesome!!!
Hes friendly, to the point and very informative. Fortunately, his nurse Carrie was able to schedule my surgery on a weekend when he would be on-call, so I was able to see him everyday that I was in the hospital. His office staff (Carrie, Kay and Tina) are the best and deserve a medal. I couldnt have done it without them.

I have not had my pre-op with Dr. Gibbs yet, but I attended his seminar this past May. He was very informative and patient. His staff is extremely helpful, particularly Kay, who helped sort of the big tangled mess of my insurance. I'm looking forward to seeing them again when I have my surgery.

Dr. Gibbs is very professional, and sensitive to his patients. His nurse Carrie is wonderful. Dr. Gibbs is to the point, You have to be ready and dedicated. You have to follow the plan to achieve your goal.
The risks were reviewed to me, and his after care program is wonderful, you can call his office staff anytime with any questions.
Dr. Gibbs is wonderful to his patients, couldn't ask for a better doctor.
I really can't say anything negative about him. He is very compasionate and listens.

Dr. Gibbs is a professional in all aspects. My husband and I attended his seminar a month ago and we were very impressed and very well educated on bariatic surgery.

He was very open and honest about complicatins and risks. While at the seminar you will receive handfuls of pamphlets and a booklet that his office has put together about what to expect during and after surgery and how to cope with nutrition and complications if any should arise.

His nurse and office staff, Kerry and Kay are very busy ladies but no too busy to be professionals make you feel comfortable and welcome.

My first impression of Dr. Gibbs was great!
He was very confident and to the point! He even told a little about himself-- he's a Christian!!! His staff seemed very nice. I only met him at the seminar, but I cant wait to get my surgery date and start my new life! I give Dr. Gibbs a A+ so far!

Dr. Gibbs and Carrie are AWESOME! He is a very straight forward, confident man. He came by to see me each day I was in the hospital, said that everything was great- let me go home and I feel just fine. Everything went just as he said it would. I would reccomend Dr. gibbs to anyone seeking WLS. He's the BEST!

My first impression of Dr. Gibbs was a good one. He was very informative and seemed pretty personable. Carrie, his nurse, seems to be a little over-worked, but in general, she was straight to the point and very helpful. She always returned my calls in a mannerly time frame.

Future patients should know that everyone who was involved with my pre-op testing and surgery team, think very highly of him. He was called by my anesthesiologist "The Master Laproscopic Surgeon", and I believe it. He took half the time to do my surgery, and I have had NO problems or complications due to my surgery.

I would give Dr. Gibbs an overall rating of A+. His surgical competence is awesome!

Dr. Gibbs is wonderful. He was and continues to be very nice and easy to talk to. His office staff is very busy but nice. The only ting I would like to see is an updated booklet on what to expect after surgery. The dietician at the the hospital that I saw before surgery gave me conflicting and scary info that Dr. Gibbs did not seem to agree with at my 3 week check up. I am only 11 weeks post-op and he has emphasized exercise but no other detailed/structured program so far. I see him again at 6 months post-op. He was very good with addressing the risks at the siminar and in my office visit. I would rate him highly overall. He has a great bedside manner and I feel he is highly surgically competent or I would not have used him.

Post-Op - I had my consult with Dr. Gibbs the day before my surgery. He was very nice and very reassuring. He was also very patient as I had two pages of questions I wanted to ask. (By scheduling the consult for the day before, they gave me WAY too much time to think of them! ha ha) My wait time to see him was about 2 mins., and considering I was 30 mins. early, that is fantastic! His staff were very friendly and helpful. Carrie was awesome.

Overall, I would rate him a 10+ for his consult and pleasantness. :)

Pre-Op - Dr. Gibbs is a funny man. I went to his seminar on 28 July, 2004 in Little Rock. He gave the box standard power point presentation and explained everything in detail. He told of the complications and risks and of the risks of staying obese. He was personable and seemed very friendly. He answered questions at the end of the seminar very briefly and then left us to ask his nurse, Tina, any private questions we may have had. Anyway, my overall impression of him was very good. Tina seemed very nice aswell. I think he has fantastic surgical records and his bedside manner seems in tact. I will update after I have had my consult to relay more about him!
