He is very nice and explains the procedure very well. Overall some of the things he tells you are scarey but I guess they are things I needed to know. He is very confident and that made me feel better about chosing him. Since my hospital stay was over a weekend I only saw him once post op, then not again for a month. I am sure that is common practice for him but I would have liked for him to be the one to discharge me from the hospital. The office staff were very responsive to any questions or concerns I had.
DR MARK GIBBS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST I WOULDNT LET ANYONE ELSE DO THIS SURGERY -A FRIEND OF MINE RECOMMENDED HIM TO ME AND I AM SO THANKFUL SHE DID. HE IS THE BEST TRUELY.HE NEVER LOOKED DOWN ON ME AS JUST ANOTHER FAT GIRL TRYING TO CHEAT HER WAY TO SKINNY- HE KNEW THIS WAS WHAT I NEEDED TO BE A HEATHIER ME- OH DID I MENTION I THINK HE IS AN ANGEL SENT FROM HEAVEN TO ME ......NOW THATS SPECIAL..HIS OFFICE STAFF EXSPECIALLY KERRI IS GREAT THEY ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP.
I RECENTLY MAY 6 04 HAD TO HAVE HERNIA SURGERY AND DOCTOR GIBBS DONE THIS ALSO --AGAIN I WOULDNT HAVE ANYONE ELSE...NOW IF YOU DONT LIKE FOWARD STRAIGHT TO THE POINT ANSWERS YOU WONT LIKE HIM -CAUSE HE WILL TELL YOU HOW THE COW EATS THE CABBAGE LITTERALLY....HE HIDES NOTHING THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE WORST POSSIBLE .....BUT IF YOUVE DONE YOUR HOMEWORK YOU WONT BE SUPPRISED...
TO RATE HIM OVER ALL AAAAA+ SURIGICAL COMPETENCE......AAAAA+ BEDSIDE MANNER....AS FAR AS DISAPPOINTMENTS I WAS UPSET BECAUSE HE WAS NOT THE LAST DOCTOR I SAW BEFORE I LEFT THE HOSPITAL ONE OF HIS PARTNERS CAME BY AND RELEASED ME.AND I WOULD OF RATHER ASK HIM THE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS I HAD INSTEAD OF SOMEONE I WAS NOT FAMILAR WITH...BUT I FORGIVE HIM....YOUD BE A FOOL NOT TO USE HIM.
My first impression of Dr. Gibbs was how he is relaxed and confident. He made me feel I could do this. He isn't rushed nor judgmental. His staff is great, friendly and kind. I have always gotten my calls returned the same day. I did feel I needed more detailed post op instructions. But, all I had to do was call and they helped. I trusted his surgical competence and he has a great bedside manner. I knew the Lord had led me to Dr. Gibbs, and I am thankful.
I will be using Dr. Gibbs as my surgeon. Will be attending a seminar on 3-26-04. Thus far I have only talked with his office staff. Very helpful and always call me back with in a day. I am eager to meet Dr. Gibbs.
Dr. Gibbs struck me as caring, comptent, smart, well read and trustworthy. His office staff is quick to respond and they are knowledgeable and supportive as well. He told me all about the risks that are involved and what I'm looking at in terms of recovery. I highly reccomend him thus far.
I went to Dr Gibbs seminar in January. I have been researching WLS for over 2 years and just found out a friend had surgery with him. She was very impressed with him and felt that he really knew what he was doing. After attending the seminar I feel the same way. He was very informative and took time after the seminar to answer some of my questions personally. He explained the risks and what is expected after the surgery. He has been doing this surgery for a long time and explained why it is the only surgery for weight loss that he does. He seemed very competent. I would rather have competence before bedside manner any day but he has both. Carrie is awesome! She responds as quickly as possible to phone calls. I have never had to wait long for her to return a call and I haven't had surgery yet. I am still waiting on insurance approval. The only negative I can say is that he is so good that his surgery schedule gets full fast, and the wait for a date is agony!
dr mark gibbs from little rock arkansas did my surgery, was extremely please with his care.. Glad i waited the months now for the best! im 2 weeks post opt and my scars are very small and are hard to notice..he takes pride in his work! He didnt miss a beat with any of my care! He was as excited as i was about the expected progress and he is very up front with you about everything.
Laproscopic Rou-n-y 12-10-03. Doctor Gibbs is fantastic. The whole process went great. Carrie who is Dr Gibb's surgical nurse also was very helpful and I am sure will continue to be with follow ups. Dr Gibbs by far emphasizes aftercare. The gastric bypass surgery is only a tool to get you where you need to go. He went through all of the possible side effects and risks of surgery with me and also asked me many questions about was I willing to do everything needed before we did the surgery. I was not only seen by Dr Gibbs after the surgery, but was checked on by the resident doctor on three seperate occasions before I went home. Dr Gibbs at my pre-meeting gave me instructions on what I needed to do after surgery to go home and not have serious complications. Example: walking- having a BM- etc. The nurses told me after I had surgery that they would bring me a bed pan instead of getting up the first day of surgery-- I said no-- I was going to walk- Everything for me went GREAT!
