Peachtree Surgical and Bariatrics Bariatric Center
My first impression of him was very different from what I was use to seeing on FOX5 Morning house call. He seemed to be very knowledgeable about this method surgery. I have never had the opportunity to meet him one-on-one but I fully trust that I am good hands. He strongly emphasizes aftercare and boldly stressed the risks involved in this procedure. I would rate him very highly thus far.
My interactions with Dr. Duncan were during 2 group classes I attended pre-op and when I woke up in my room post op he and several of his collegues were in the room. I was groggy but remembered he asked me how I felt.
My impressions of him were very good. If however, you are looking for one on one time with your surgeon that probably will not happen. I am still trying to comfirm that Dr. Duncan did in fact perform my surgery as this is a group of surgeons.
The staff is accomodating yet clearly overwhelmed at times due to the popularity of this practice. Make sure you follow up on anything faxed or mailed. Even if someone tells you they have it make sure you get a name.
This practice is very concientious about patients understanding the risks.
I was shocked when they asked me for a fee to fill out a 1 page document for my FMLA request. 15,000 + should have covered any forms that needed to be filled out.
All in all Dr. Duncan and his staff is competent and friendly and due to minimal comlications I would do it again with this practice.
My first impression of Dr Duncan was that he cared about his patients and thought out my experience my impression never changed about him it got stronger.
The office staff was so helpful especially Yakima sny questions I had before surgery I could call and ask to speak to her. If she didn't have the answer she would find out and get back in touch me me asap.
One of the things the he expect you to do is take your vitamins and iron everyday.
My experience in the Hospital was over good they made me realize if I do want to be healthy an pain free I had get up out the bed and start road to recovery
When I first met Dr. Duncan he was speaking to a group of us prior to our surgery and i really like him because he is sensative and up front and honest which showed that he is not in it for the money. He has a wonderful office staff (much thanks to Yakima, Kenya, and Dr. Shannon)and they are very supportive. Dr. Duncan will be up front with you and honest, if you are afraid to have this surgery or if you have reservations about the surgery he will tell you don't do it. Dr. Duncan or one of his other surgeons will meet with you and let you know all the risks and possible complications. I feel that anyone who decides to use Dr. Duncan will be very pleased with him, he is one of the BEST in the COUNTRY.
I was very inpressed with him and his staff. I still feel that he is the best surgeon that is available and Atlanta Medical center is the best hospital to go to. There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about him or his staff. They are all very helpful and always courteous and understanding. They all seem to go out of the way to make you feel comfortable.
Dr. Duncan's credentials are extensive. He teaches his technique all over the world. He has a program on channel five at 8:30 am ea. Thurs. to help people understand all about this surgery and other topics.
Dr. Duncan wants to continue aftercare of all his patients from now on. His entire staff was always very informative. There was no question that they didn't answer. When he does his seminars he will stay until the last question is asked. He never cuts it short.
His surgical competence and bedside manner are excellent. I cannot say enough good about him or his staff. I have heard absolutely nothing bad said about him. To date he and his staff have done over 1600 surgeries with only 3 fatalities and these people were extremely high risk and were trying to get the surgery as a last effort to save their live.
I tried to find something bad to say, but really couldn't come up with anything. You do need as with any dr to stay busy making sure that all your preop stuff gets done and to the right person. You should call at least once weekly to make sure that each thing is there. Sometimes faxes get lost so get a copy from the person who is faxing it to drs office so that if it is lost you have a copy and can give it to them yourself.
When I met Dr. Duncan for the first time, he made me feel very comfortable. He was very knowledgeable about WLS. He covered all aspects of the surgery. I felt very informed.
As I met the other doctors in the group, I felt just as comfortable. His office staff was top notch. Even with the abundance of patients, they were very caring and understanding toward my situation. There was nothing that I was not pleased with. I would let future patients know that Dr. Duncan's program was the best. If they really want a caring office with competent and understang doctors, this is the office for them. I had to relocate after my surgery; however, I was given very specific instructions for the most optimal results. Dr. Duncan explained every aspect of WLS. All of the positives were explained and all of the risks were explained also. I can truly say I was well informed. I would give Dr. Duncan and his staff an overall rating of "Outstanding". I think both, surgical competence and bedside manner, are important. They displayed both very well.
Dr. Duncan came highly recommended by my PCP and 3 frends who went through his team. The had nothing but awesome things to say about his team of doctors and the office staff. The only thing I have to add is they were absolutely right. Dr Duncan's team is phenomenal. The are on target abot everything they said wold or wold not happen. I appreciate their honesty and their sincerity. They were ecouraging from beginning to end.
I thank God for allowing Dr. Duncan's team to help me with my new beginning. I am exited about life.
You will always come highly recommended from me to to others.
First impression of Dr Duncan was that he was funny and down to earth. I haven't met him in person but will this coming week. Some of his office staff is clearly overworked but they don't show it. They are always pleasant and helpful. What I didn't like about the experience is that I have not met the Dr yet, but I understand how swamped he is. Future patients should know he is serious about his conditions, meaning, he is strict about what he wants you to do before, during, and after surgery. He wants to be sure you understand this is a serious step in one's life. He emphasizes afercare strongly and his staff gives you all the information you may need.
Very nice and likable person. Highly knowledgable in all questions he received. Made you feel very comfortable, and not worry feeling.I first impression, of him and his staff remain the same I was made very to feel very comfortable and was always warmly greeted. He was able to some serious that would cause a person some worries and add humor to make them feel relax. Just the feeling of assurance he gives. He constantly stress the importants of following Post-op aftecare, to the letter, watching for little signs that something may not be going as well as it should.Yes, and his staff made sure understands the impotants of following their instructions. He explain the seriousness of this surgery and that it is a major type of surgery and cannot be taking likely. I have referred several of my friends to contact about their problem. However, I told them I do not and can not suggest they have the surgery, this is something they must decide through medical research and talking with their doctors.Equally the same. A: The experiance I encounted with Dr.Duncan, was truly great and I would referr, my friends to him.B: However, I do not suggest having major surgery of any type to anyone. This is something you must decide for yourself, weather or not this is something you are willing to take a risk on.You must under-stand this is major surgery and something that can affect you for the rest of your life. My wife and I researched and prayed over this surgery decision for over a year before I decide it was what I need to help me. Never let anyone talk you into some-thing, that you are not sure is best for you.
