Peachtree Surgical and Bariatrics Bariatric Center
My first impression of Dr. Duncan was a confident one. He was very at eased with himself and others as he explained the process and his background. My first impression has not changed at all. He is surrounded by a very competent staff. Overall I rate him as an excellent surgeon and I would refer him to anyone.
My first impression of Dr. Duncan is there is no way he's old enough to be operating!! LOL. I've only met him once and that was at his seminar. But I did enjoy it and came away knowing way too much information. He lays it on the line and doesn't sugar coat a thing. Can't tell you too much more until I go for my consult with him on March 25, 2003.
My first meeting with Dr. Duncan was a very scary momment because when he looked at me he had this look on his face that had me thinking he wasn't going pick me to operate on. I thought he could just pick and choose who he wanted to help. But the fear I had of him wasn't fair at all. It was just negative thinking. But to be honest with you, Dr. Duncan is really a saint and a friend.
Dr. Duncan's office staff is so friendly and helpful. They make you feel like someone special every time you enter into their office. To me every time you show up for a visit it's like you are visiting family. Well, they really are our new found family they gave me a new life.
There really isn't anything that I have seen or found that I dislike about him.
Future patients should know that he's a wonderful man. He doesn't sugar coat anything. He's very down to earth and he explains everything very clearly. The good and bad about the surgery. He will let you know from the start all the risks and dangers associated with the surgery. He's good and he knows his stuff.
He strongly emphasizes aftercare. He wants nothing but the best health for you. He wants to make sure you are 150% in good health.
He has a very structured aftercare program.
He was very firm when he addressed the risks of the surgery. He mainly tried to talk you out of it. He informed us how dangerous it was. He put it on us to make up our minds and take the risk.
I will rate him and his staff #1 best in this field. :)
Both are great.
Dr. Robinson is a very quiet soft spoken man. He has a wonderful bedside manner and is extremely courteous. Rose and Elaine are extremely wonderful at his office. Rose handles insurance and Elaine is a nurse who's had WLS (Fobi pouch procedure) also. One of my best friends had surgery in August 2002 and to date has lost 181lbs with no complications. Dr. Robinson was her surgeon and she has only great things to say about him. He is well qualified and has been performing WLS for quite a few years. I'll have more to say once I've had the actual surgery I suppose. (3/3/04) Dr. Robinson has cancelled all of his bariatric cases. I am now planning on using Titus Duncan. I haven't met him yet, but I only hear good things so far.
The office staff was excellent! You have to understand upfront that they are VERY busy. If papers get shuffled around, calls don't get returned, etc it isn't that they aren't interested. They know how important this surgery is to each one of us. Be patient... I have to say that Kevin McKown is wonderful. He is Duncan's asst.
Dr. Duncan's bedside manner and sense of humor is very comforting. I can't say thanks enough for everything I've received from this experience. Like my bumper sticker says..."Proud to be a LOSER"
The stay at Atlanta Medical Center was great.
I have only met him once and that was at the seminar. He was very professional and his staff was awesome! So far dealing with them has been great. I recently changed surgeons to Dr. Duncan's office so I can honestly say that my opinion is not biased. If you are in the Atlanta area and need a surgeon look him up first you'll be very happy you did!
Dr. Duncan's knows his stuff. Very educating on telling you the pros and cons of surgery. He speaks to everyone, listens and makes you feel like a real person. Not just more money in his pocket. Everyone at his office is wonderful, very helpful with anything you ask. I know I'm confident that I picked a great surgeon.
My first impression of Dr. Duncan was good. He seemed to be very interested in me and answered my questions with care. To this day (1 year later) Dr. Duncan and the surgical associates at Peachtree Surgical have my respect and admiration. They are true professionals at what they do treating the entire body, not just the bypass issues. I think Dr. Duncan and McGowan are the best. They came to see me in the hospital several times and the aftercare is developing into a comprehensive program that allows patients to share their concerns and thoughts. Your experience will be better if you embrace the surgery with open eyes and follow the recomendations. Stay ontop of your paperwork and make copies of everything just in case there is a problem. Call often for updates on requests and approvals, but don't hound the staff they are very busy... be patient. The risks were explained in a non-threatening matter of fact manner that i found acceptable. I would recomend Peachtree Surgical to anyone for WLS.
He is wonderful and inspiring Dr. He smiles and gives a wodnerful since of happiness.
