He was very gentle. Caring and was positive. The staff was aewsome, but most important are the others you meet in the pre surgery group who are in the same thing that you are. The nurses were great, and made me feel real comfortable. Lori the staff person I was assigned to the whole way was the best. She anwered all my questions. Dr. Zorn specializes in Laproscopic. If he can do it on you go for it. It all had to do with you BM. I had a large Body mass but he still was able to proform the surgery. He said you do what I tell you to do and I will loose about 125 lbs in 6 months. I am trying to follow everthing that he says.

DR. ZORN is one of the best surgeons on the planet! He is an expert in his field and he is personable as well; superior skill and terrific bedside manner. He and his office staff have been professional and supportive in every way. I'm particularly pleased by the fact that my phone calls are returned in a timely manner.
Something I learned after my surgery is that the surgical nurse who assisted Dr. Zorn in my laproscopic procedure happens to be MRS. Zorn -- they were both at the top of their game on September 27,2002, when they performed my operation! As far as I can tell they did a great job. I have five little scars; not a single problem from any of the little surgical sites.
One of the questions asked is: "What do you like least about him/her?" My only problem is that his office is in San Diego and I'm up here in North Orange County; and I don't believe he has a structured aftercare program in operation yet. I would like more aftercare. It would be helpful to me to be involved in an aftercare program with others who have been through this experience.
I understand that there IS a support group for Kaiser Bariatric patients up here, but I've been unsuccessful in contacting anyone involved in it. I'm still looking for a group around here -- email me if you can assist. Thank you.

My first impression of Dr. Rumsey was that he was a kind and gentle soul. My impression only changed for the better. The office staff was fine. Not overly friendly, but ok. What I liked least about him is that he was strict about my losing weight before surgery, but now that it's done (I lost 35 pounds prior), I'm so glad I did. I was so much stronger than before because of working out and losing weight and much more able to tolerate the surgery.

Future patients should know that he is an excellent choice and will help you to be successful at this - not just have it done and then fail afterward.

They have a very structured aftercare program. He was very clear with me about the risks.

Overall, I rate him as wonderful. Every time he saw me, in or out of the hospital, he would always grab my hand between his two hands very gently and caringly.

I think he is great at both surgical competence and bedside manner!

I liked DR.Rumsey the minute I meet him. I knew for sure I wanted the surgury. I was unsure until I meet him, now I can't wait.

Had my consultation with Dr. Rumsey on Jan. 27th. My impression of him, was he is very through in his exam and explaination of the procedure.
He noted that I was on a fairly high dose of medicine for ulcers, and assured me that after the surgery I would only be on them for approx. 1 month, and then should never need them again.... boy was I happy since I was told I would be on them for LIFE.
Dr. Rumsey, has requested that I lose 15ls prior to the surgery, and at first I didn't understand why, then I realized that he is making sure that I am ready for the life altering changes that will be forth coming.
He explained the whole program, I walked away with a packet of DO and DON'Ts, what to be prepared for, what I needed to do to prepare myself for.

I really was very impressed with Dr. Rumsey and am very glad he will be my surgeon. My big day is scheduled for May 2nd.... Can't wait...

Dr. Rumsey is fantastic, he is a very kind gentle person and cares very much for his patients health and welfare. He explains everything to you and will sit as long as neccessary to answer all your questions. The staff at Pacific Bariatric's is awesome, everyone is so kind and helpful, you are treated with respect. There isn't anything about Dr. Rumsey that I disliked, once you meet him you can see he is very special and that's why he is in this field he is and treating people like myself. Dr. Rumsey sets the stage for prior care and after care and it is no joke, you do what your supposed to and you do your follow up care with PB 1-3-6-12 monhts and then once a year after that. On a scale from 1-10, I would give Dr. Rumsey a 15 :o) his bedside manner is awesome, he listens with great care to everything you have to say, to him you are VERY important. He explains in detail the risks of the surgery as well and the risks if you don't have the surgery. As you read you can see I think the world of my surgeon and would hightly recommend him to anyone.

Well, the first time I met Dr. Rumsey was at an orientation. He was so polite and considerate regarding things going on at the meeting. I was impressed by his demeanor and helpfulness to all his staff.

He explained everything in detail and appeared convinced this surgery is important for all obese people with co-morbs to have a better life.

Now, when I met him once again in San Diego he was running extremely behind (3hrs). I did not take up his time and only asked one question. I did not mind this very brief appt. I was already well-read and was familiar with all the surgeons from Pacific Bariatrics due to researching for 9 months. I have been told they are all marvelous.

Dr. Zorn was very personable and eagar to answer my questions regarding the procedure. The office staff was very nice, and seemed to understand the challenges that the obese face. They had large size paper gowns that actually fit (who thought that was possible) and were very respectful of my time. I have ever confidence in Dr. Zorn's surgical competence, and his bed-side manner is quite good.
