I found Dr. Zorn to be WONDERFUL, his staff on the other hand, not so great, they dropped to ball on a few things that could have cost me months of additional waiting. They lost blood work and even sent me prescriptions I was allergic to. A week before my surgery he called me explained their mix up and corrected it immediately, you usually have to wait a little bit to see him, but its always worth the wait. You are the only person in the world when he's talking to you, he is amazing. I waited years for the right surgeon and I thank god everyday for him, I have had an amazing recovery and feel better than I have felt in years.

Dr. Zorn is very easy going, supportive and down to earth. He listens to my concerns and lets me know what's going on or what I should do. He cares about my recovery. He's been a surgeon for over 35 years. He has always been available when I needed him. The team of doctors he works with are very supportive as well and will lend a helping hand if on call. I am glad that I chose Pacific Bariatric to have my surgery with. Although he is an excellent doctor, some of the receptionists are rude and seem tired or overworked. And the wait time in the waiting room of his office is RIDICULOUS. Expect to wait an hour or so before you see him. I am assuming this is because he's so thorough with his patients and their concerns. =)

I am doing great! Staying slim without much trouble at all. Lost ALL OF MY EXCESS BODY WEIGHT.

Dr. Rumsey is the best surgeon I have had the good fortune to have had as my bariatric surgeon. He is patient, kind, knows exactly what to say, and helps to create a feeling of confidence in you. He has an amazing bedside manner, explains everything in a way that you can understand, not in 'doctorese'. I feel so very blessed to have had him as my surgeon and recommend him without any hesitation.

Dr. Zorn is great. I really liked him,he is great in talking with you about what your surgery is going to be. He is great before and after surgery. I liked Dr. Zorn in all areas. Very good bed side manners. Very good doctor.Thank you for being my doctor Dr.Zorn.

They drop off care at one year so there was only the follow up by my primary care physician, who had no real experience with the bariatric surgery. He has been great about the blood tests, but not helpful with the weight gain.

Dr. Zorn is GREAT! I liked him from the day I attended the orientation he led at Scripps Mercy Hospital. He's very calm, down-to-earth, and he knows his stuff. He's very skilled and his demeanor puts you immediately at ease. My surgery went great, no complications. Dr. Zorn explained the procedure clearly, at my pre-op consult, including all possible risks. His confidence in the surgery made me confident I had made the right decision. He's strongly emphasizes aftercare & stresses the importance of follow-up appointments. On a scale of 1-10, I would absolutely rate Dr. Zorn a 10!

I've met Dr. Zorn of pacific Bariatric once for the pre-op visit. I found him to be pleasant and attentive. He asked me which surgery I wanted and agreed with my choice. We chatted about pre and post care. I had some questions about leave from work and he covered those for me. I am condident in him and his abilities.

However, the office itself is a zoo. They overbook by HOURS!!!! When I was there for a 2pm appt, I waited until 4:30! There were several patients waiting for their post surgical appointments and they told me that everytime they had come to the office it was the same story.

Upon leaving I was given paperwork instructing that we would hear from the office withing 3 weeks with the surgery date. After three weeks, then two and half weeks of phone calls, I finally received a surgery date.

Either the office staff is not qualified or they are taking on more patients than they can handle. However, everyone I spoke with was very nice, and that is saying something considering how many people must call each day looking for surgery dates.

My first impression of Dr. Zorn is that he is very kind and relaxed. He was confident and straightforward and really listened to all my concerns and comments. The day we met he seemed tired, and judging by the number of patients in the waiting room I can see why. Pacific Bariatric seems to be a bit flooded to capacity at the moment. The timing of the surgery was over-promised by Kaiser and under-delivered by PB but I think it is truly through unforeseen circumstances. Just be aware that if you are looking to do your surgery with PB, the wait could be extensive. The office staff appears to really be struggling with the influx of new patients. It's really hit or miss depending on who you get on the phone. Some are really sweet and helpful...others, uhm, not so much. But the key is Dr. Zorn and the whole organization at PB really have and EXCELLENT track record, which is why I'm happy Kaiser uses them. I am glad for the support groups they sponsor, the long term follow-up care, the patient seminars and information CD they provided.

Dr. Zorn was honest with me about my personal risks for RNY which is why were are doing the VSG instead. I was concerned about the radiation damage to my abdomen from previous cancer treatments and he agreed that it was likely not safe to work directly on the intestines. I am happy with his manner and I will update regarding the rest of the experience once I actually have my surgery.

Had surgery 9-27-10, and had very minimal pain. By the time I was released from the hospital day 4, I wasn't on any pain meds. I was a bit sore in my stomach area however, nothing I couldn't handle. I was able to get in and out of bed with no help. Dr. Rumsey is a great surgeon. I would recommend anyone to him considering going through this procedure. He truly has a good hand. With my gall bladder surgery I had extreme pain post op compared to my RNY. Go figure :)
