Obesity Surgery Center Bariatric Center
I believe that Dr. Anez is one of the most competent bariatric surgeons in Northern Virginia. He was highly recommended to me by my Primary Care Physician.
Once I met with him, he explained the procedure using visual aides (much appreciated) and offered to answer any questions I had.
I'm very pleased with my choice of Dr. Anez and his team. His office staff is excellent and keeps on top of everything quite well considering everything they have to keep track of.
Fantastic, brilliant surgeon. Obviously cares a lot about his patients. Staff is wonderful - many of them former bariatric patients themselves. No negatives about this practise. Very structured before and after care program. Asks for a follow-up commitment for life. Extremely impressive. Addresses fully the risks of surgery. I rate him as the best. Period. On a 10-point scale, he rates a 20! Both his surgical competence and bedside manner are exemplary.
I've only met Dr. Anez a couple of times but he seems to be very pleasant. He seeming to always be wearing a smile. The staff in his office are very nice and always willing to answer any questions.
My surgery date is set for January 5, 2005, and assuming that everything goes as planned, I should be on my way to being a healthier person very soon.
I will keep you updated on what happens after my surgery and through my recovery and weight loss.
Friendly, but professional. I first met him when my daughter decided to have the surgery two years ago. No change in impression, after two years he is still friendly and down to earth. He lets you know what part he will play in your battle to lose weight and that it is up to you to use the tool he gives you for your healthier life. He stresses that YOU are the driver of your body and that he will teach you to drive. He noted that any surgery has risks, I knew this and I have opted to take my chances. Overall I would say he is one of the best in the country. Of course I'm partial since he was successful with my daughter's surgery.
Through reading the 222 testimonials, I was expecting a serious, maybe not so friendly, but very knowledgable surgeon. I went in, and he was nothing like that. Yes, he was to the point, but that is what you are there for. I really enjoyed meeting Dr. Anez. He answered the few questions I had, did his famous crayon drawing of the procedure, and gave me some pre-op advice.
He was a guest speaker at one of the Staple Club meetings, and was very helpful and down to earth, answering everyone's questions. He was very easy to talk to and I feel very good about him as my surgeon. Even doctors at another local hospital highly recommended him as a top bariatric surgeon in the area. Thanks!
Dr. Anez is a fabulous surgeon. I felt better immediately when I walked into his office and saw stacks of books of pictures of his patients - it comforted me to know that he had perfomed so many of these surgeries. Like many surgeons, he's not a chatty, friendly kind of guy - but he laid out all of the risks to me on my first visit and made sure I was aware of all of the facts before I made my final decision. Most of the time, I saw his PA, Maria, who is just the warmest, most wonderful person, and who has had the surgery herself. There is a very structured aftercare program - seeing the PA every month at first, then every 3 months, and now I'm up to every 6 months. Each time they take blood, check the incision and answer any questions about diet, exercise, etc. I believe the Dr. Anez's surgical competence and his staff's bedside manner make for the best possible team. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Anez and his staff - they saved my life!
My first impression of Dr. Anez was that he was very reserved. He reviewed my medical history, then explained the surgery in detail, and finally explained the risks. I had done considerable research on the process; therefore I only had a few questions. He answered all of them to my satisfaction. I did have some difficulty understanding him due to his accent but I simply asked him to repeat what he had said. My consultation with him confirmed all I had read about him. Based on my research, discussions with others who have had the surgery, and my initial consultation with Dr. Anez, I have decided that having the surgery is the best course of action for me.
Dr. Anez was soft-spoken with a "sweet spirit." I felt he was calm and confident and appreciated his thoughtful, honest answers to my questions. I have seen him several times since my surgery and continued to be very impressed with him. The office staff is polite, but often hurried. I most appreciated Dr. Anez's cautiousness. He insists on his own nutritionist and her classes were very helpful as well. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner were very good.
His office is incredibly busy but he and his staff were willing to explain when asked. Dr. Anez was direct and to the point but I believe surgical competence is far more important than being overly friendly. I've actually only spoken to him during the consult and briefly as I was being rolled into surgery. His physician's assistant, Maria, is the one I deal with for my follow-up appointments.
I have really enjoyed the visits I have had with Dr. Anez and his staff. He went over fully the expectations of myself after surgery and the risks.
