Dr Anez,he was a real nice gentleman and will answer any of your question for you that you have. One nurse at fairoaks hospital in fairfax,Va. told me that they never have any trouble with any of Dr. Anez patients, and this was a good feeling. His office staff at the Woodbridge office are very nice and helpful.Dr.Anez wants his patients to see a nutrientist and to go to the staple club meetings, these are very important to him that his patients do this, believe me its worth every bit of it.I do not regret it and I would have him do it again. My incision heeled real good I had my galbladder out in 1982 and they cut on top of this and today you would not even know that i had this surgery done.He did a excellant job.He will give you any advise that he can to keep you from making a mistake. He really looks out for his patients.

10/7/99 met with Dr Anez for the first time. He was thorough and informative. Gave me a lot of reading material to help educate me on the surgery. He feels there will be no problem with approval. We will meet again next week to review the literature and answer a lot more questions. His office staff in the Woodbridge office are great.
Basically, Dr. Anez was very nice and I am sure we will get to know each other a lot better over the next few weeks.
10/13/99 Second visit. Dr. Anez answered a lot of questions. We are getting to know each other :D ! I like him and feel comfortable with his knowledge and explanations.
Third visit went well -- have to wait for scheduling.
12/5/99: Finally have a date for surgery -- January 5, 2000. Look out Y2k! HERE I COME!!! YEAH!!
02/02/00: It is 4 weeks since surgery and I would just like to report that I am doing very well thanks to Dr. Anez, his staff and the staff of Fair Oaks Hospital. This time has served to convince me that Dr. Anez is truely a gifted and caring physician who cares about his patients and their well being. Anyone considering the surgery should certainly consider Dr. Anez. You would truely be in good hands!! (no punn intended).

I had done a lot of research before surgery, and Dr Anez was the man who was most recommended in my region. He was quiet, and although he'll ask if you have any questions, you have to take the initiative and ask, ask, ask!! He's very open and responsive, and explains everything in detail. He also requires that you visit with a nutritionist several times before surgery, and after as well. His office staff didn't impress me at first, but boy, was my first impression WRONG!!! They got me approved and scheduled in what has to be close to record time! (My insurance was changing the first of the year, and I had my first appointment 12/13/99, and got approved, and had the surgery 12/29/99!!). The office staff has been very helpful and above all, CARING!!
Dr Anez requires a strict regimin of after-care, and the first 3 months are covered in his surgical fee (as of the date of my surgery). They run a support group which meets once a month (twice if you count his Woodbridge office group, too). This doctor, through his nutritionist and staff, treats the WHOLE you. He is extremely competent surgically, and like I said, isn't real talkative, but he knows his stuff! He gets a HIGH recommendation from me, and I'm picky about service providers of any type!! I was in a lot of pain afterwards, and he extended my pain medication sufficiently, although he worried about it -- but he kept close tabs, and I was off by day 8 post-op.

My first impression of Dr Anez was..boy he is quiet..but handsome..lol!!!!!! Dr. Anez is very skilled at what he does. He put my mind at ease and re assured me that I had nothing to worry about and even from Day One let me know that I will reach my goal weight. The office staff is wonderful. I have been trying to get the gastric bypass for over 2 years and have had alot of contact with Margaret, The office manager. She is a great asset to the staff at Fair Oaks. I think she has helped me in so many ways. I am truly quite thankful for all of her assistance. Future patients should be aware of the fact that this is a life changing experience, not just physically but mentally as well. Be preapred for being a bit depressed after surgery..it does happen to soem but after a week or two you are back into the swing of things..emotionally. I rate Dr. Anez and his staff a 10. They were excellent and very very helpful assisting me make my new lifestyles. I am very pleased and would recommend Dr. nez and his staff to anyone who wants to reach their weight goals. I also wanted to add that the Fair Oaks hospital is a wonderful hospital and they took excellent care of me as well.

I had a VBG 4 years ago when I was 340 pounds. I went down to 204, and have since gone back up to 258. I went back to Dr. Afram for a visit about converting to a gastric bypass. He stated that he would do it if I paid him $1000 over and above what the insurance company would pay him. Just a bit pompous if you ask me. I have since decided to go elsewhere in VA for help.

He also wanted $1000 in order to schedule my husband for the procedure. He acceptes CareFirst Blue Cross but obviously doesn't think that he is paid enough. No more for me thank you very much. I guess it pays to shop around.

Dr. Anez is a quiet man. Ask him a question and he will answer you, but don't expect a long conversation. He is very thorough. The scar looks as good as can be expected. I would rate him high.

The staff at Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, VA is also wonderful. They have facilities for the obese patient, like oversize bathrooms, special beds and ALL THE ROOMS ARE PRIVATE!!!!! I would highly recommend it, even if you have to drive alittle.

Dr.Anez is very professional. Unfortunately, he does not perform LAP operations. He only performs OPEN RNY surgery. He indicated that he has performed over 500. He seems quite confident in his abilities and thoroughly explains the operation. Office staff is very nice as well as Sally the nutrionist.

Dr. Anez comes across as a "no-nonsense" type of person. His office staff was very helpsul and my approval went through in less than a week with no problems. He has a structured after-care program, consisting of regularly scheduled visits. I would recommend, however, that future patients are diligent about their own progress and care. I have found that sometimes test results are not reviewed when received, and forgetten about until a follow-up visit a couple of months later. Dr. Anez's surgical competence is his strong suit, and I felt comfortable with him as my surgeon.

Dr. Anez and Dr. Roll are both great surgeons to work with. They are both highly knowledgable and skilled surgeons that give quality care to their patients.

my first impression was he new what he was talking about and so did I. Since I had considered having this surgery for many years. He also did my tummy tuck a year later

my impression didn't seem to change over time

I visit the woodbridge office and it is smaller then the fairfax..Vicky is very nice and will help you in anyway she can

I really have nothing to bad to say about Dr anez

I really feel that Dr Anez new a lot about the surgery, he has a program that you go through, as far as seeing a dietician and all before and after surgery

Actuall the one thing I would complain about is the pro--mod by enfamil that stuff is nasty
