Dr Anez is very through about this procesure. I left know alot of stuff.
His office staff was very polite and friendly.
Nothing i was very pleased

Dr. Anez was reffered by my primary care GP, by a very close friend who is a nurse in a surgery ward and by 2 former patients.

He is my hero. He does this type of surgery because he honestly wants to help morbidly obese people. He recognizes that a lot of surgeons do not want to do this type of surgery, because being so large, we are high risk patients.

He was very thorough about making sure I understood the risks and that I had relistic expectations.

He requires his patients to attend sessions with a nutritionist prior to surgery. He also sponsors a support group for pre-sugery, post-surgery, and undecided patients.

I can't say enough good things about this man. He saved my life!

12/4/00 - this was my first consulation with Dr. Anez. He is very quiet, but that didn't bother me. He explained the surgery very well and also gave me a booklet for me to keep that have a lot of helpful information in it. The office staff was very nice to me. His aftercare program seems to be very well established and structured. He emphasis on the aftercare program as most important. He addressed all of the risks of the surgery. I feel very comfortable with Dr. Anez and trust him with the surgery.

My first impression of Dr Anze was good. He is very informative and all his staff is very encouraging about the surgery. I am sure there are plenty of others like my self that had a low self esteem and low confidence that there was a way out, but I have found that there is!!!!! And everyone in Dr.Anzes office, patients, staff, and Sally all made you feel good about what you were doing and they gave you hope for your future. Dr Anze was very straight forward and along with telling you all about the surgery he also had a hand out that you can refer to at anytime. Monica and Sally were also the best, very encouraging and informative on any questions that I had. Monica was very helpful when it came to knowing what test needed to be done for insurance purposes. I would highly recommend the whole crew.

Dr. Anez is a quiet, knowledgeable surgeon with a lot of experience.

My first impression was that his evaluation was cursory, though at over 400 lbs it was pretty easy to see that I needed to do SOMETHING. He was impressed that I'd done a lot of research into the surgery.

The office staff is very nice. The office manager left shortly after my surgery, and has been replaced by a nurse practicioner that seems to have a heck of a lot of good sense.

I felt that after my surgery, when I had a lot of complications and an infection, Dr. Anez had to be prodded into acting to make sure I had adequate care. I understand that this is a common problem with surgeons in general. However, once he knew the seriousness of the situation, he made sure that I received the care I needed.

Dr. Anez is very knowledgeable and feels that patients are responsible to a certain extent for their own care. Remember this and let him know about your questions and concerns.

There is follow along medical care, and support group meetings twice per month. The after care really happens with the nutritionist, Sally Myers, who is a gem.

Overall, I am generally satisfied with the care I got from Dr. Anez. I had to be assertive but I expect that in any healthcare situation....

Surgical competence and bedside manner are both important in this form of surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Anez was that he
knew what he was doing. He was very friendly
and answered all my questions. I took my
husband with me and he was very much at ease
by the time we left. He has a very informative
book he goes through with you and let's you have it
when you leave. His staff is very nice and they
have been extremely helpful following up with my
insurance. They seem to already know me after only
one office visit. When you have your meeting with
Dr. Anez, feel free to ask him to close his door
so that you are not distracted or self-conscience.
His office is right next to the reception area.
Dr. Anez does have a very structured before and after
care with a nutritionist and support club called
the 'staple club'.
Make sure you have questions to ask, because
once he goes through the procedure, he doesn't
offer any other information unless you ask. I
had done enough research that I knew what I
wanted to ask.

Dr. Anez was not helpful once I started
gaining weight again, other than to tell me
to not eat so much. He won't consider performing
a revision unless your staple line is disrupted,
which mine wasn't, so I had to go elsewhere to
find a surgeon to give me a revision.

I loved Dr. Anez. I went to see him on Sept. 21,2000. Alot of people say he is abrupt and all business, but I found him to be quite enjoyable. He gives you a book that explains every question you may have and the patients in the waiting room are so fun and excited. I met 6 people who had it done between 2 and 8 months ago and everyone said they would do it again in a heartbeat. I had already studied this website, so I knew what all this involved, so I had few questions. The book he gives you answers every one. The office staff were nice. I would recommend Dr. Anez, I think he is great!

My first impression of Dr.Anez was that ,He is a very good surgeon ,explained the operation to me , gave me time to ask questions.The more i know ,and get to know about him makes me feel confident , I
had made the right chose in a surgeon.the office staff was helpful. There is nothing I can say about him or his office staff , I was very happy with thier service. Dr. Anez is very strict about aftercare,And his staff dietician, Sally Meyers , is just Super and helpful in every way. I think that in order to rate my surgeon ,I would have to say ,He was a "10"- the best,bedside manner was Great, too!
