Obesity Surgery Center Bariatric Center
he explained everything in simle terms.
staff very helpful.
my impression of Dr. Anez was a good one. I have read on other profiles that he was brief and you feel rushed but I didnt get that feeling at all. He explained the procedures and answered my questions very throughly and in depth. The office staff is wonderful. They smile and make you feel welcomed as soon as you come through the door and very helpful.
If you had a list of ?s he would answer them in detail but wasnt apt to give information in detail if he was not asked.
During my preop testing i overheard two nurses in the break room talking about Dr. Anez and I remember one asking the other one what there shift was next week and she said I'm working Anezs postop patients, and the other one replied,"Girl, you got and easy shift, cuz you know he can do that surgery with his eyes closed and his patients really dont have any complications". Then the other one said yeah girl, hes the man, he gets them in and out and one their way to recovery."
So with me overhearing that,I at that point had not qualms about going under after that, and they were excatly right, I only stayed in the hospital 2 days instead of 3 with no complications... :)
I have only seen him once so far, however I found him to have a lovely bedside manner. He stuck me as being a very caring physician. His office staff is very friendly and eager to assist in any way possible.
The registered dietician, Linda is very knowledgable about what to expect in the way of life changing events such as how to eat, which is a big thing in everyone's life. She has many good tips on what kind of supplements to get and where to get them.
For anyone considering this surgery, I would recommend this physician and his staff.
Had my first appointment with Dr. Anez yesterday, 12/2/02. Went a lot faster than I had expected. He explained the surgery and gave me a book. I have been researching this for over 2 years, so kind of know what to expect. Just very nervous about being put under and waking up! He told me it would be fine. Was approved last year with BC/BS with Dr. Roll and chickened out. I am planning on going through with this if approved. When I walked in he said "OH, you're not that big!" That's what I got with Dr. Roll, but the scales don't lie!
Dr. Anez was very thorough in explaining the risks as well as the benefits to me. His staff has been very helpful. He recommended that I attend the monthly Staple Club meeting. I have found them to be very helpful in my quest for good health. The surgery only lasted an hour and he removed by gallbladder and repaired a hernia. I would rate him 8 on a scale of 10.
My surgeon was very professional. I regret not having more questions to ask, but I already knew how the surgery worked, oddly enough we'd discussed in anatomy class so I probably knew more about the actual procedure and effects on the body than most.
The office staff is great. The receptionist called me 'honey' and 'sweetie' the second I walked in the door and seemed genuinely happy to see me, though we'd never met. I know this is weird, but the chairs ruled. I could actually see part of the seat instead of having to stuff myself in every which way.
The aftercare is very structured. I mentioned that due to Anatomy class, I might not be able to make the support meeting. He looked me in the eye and said "You will find a way." He's right. I will. I want to learn the effects of a triple bypass in medical school, not from personal experience.
Some people might find his accent a little hard to understand, but I work with people of many different nationalities so it wasn't so hard for me.
Dr. Anez is wonderful. He is very straight-forward and thorough. Not exceptionally warm and fuzzy, but that's fine. He is technically competent and very successful at the surgery. My sister is a nurse at one of the hospitals he operates at--other doctors and nurses HIGHLY recommended him. The best referral a doctor could have in my opinion! The office staff has been great...very helpful. Very structured aftercare program; emphasized heavily. I would rate him very high.
I was nervous and he seemed very forthright in explaining the procedure, do's and don'ts of what I will have to do before and after surgery. I still have some questions which I hope to address in the next day or two. His office staff was very friendly, but very busy. He does emphasize about taking of vitamins, supplements and having to see him the rest of your life. I have confidence in him and just pray everything goes as it should.
Dr. Osvaldo Anez is a wonderful doctor and came highly recommended. I found my operation to be a great success and was very pleased with Dr. Anez and his wonderful staff. There was this wonderful lady, her name was Margaret, she worked in Dr. Anez' office. She really helped assist me with insurance questions and support. Margaret saw me prior to my surgery. I wish today to find her and say thank you for helping me make this a wonderful journey. I am very thankful and appreciative to them both, and the entire staff at their office.
The information provided to me was very informative and also very honest.
Anytime you make a life altering decision to change your body you really need to know the facts. I was given alot of accurate information, and also learned alot about side effects, and all the possible complications. I think that in all fairness the staff and Dr. Anez are absolutely very throrough with their knowledge.
We have a club called the staple club. The club meets every month to talk to each other and meet new people considering this surgery. This was an excellent idea and I highly encourage any individual considering this surgery to go to atleast 2 before u have your operation. i think having great surgical competence and bed side manner is important in soemthing so personal and life altering as a gastric bypass. Obesity is a very sensitive issie and needs to be addressed with compassion and understanding. I think Dr. Anez has been overall on a scale of one to ten....ten being the best a PERFECT 10!!!!!!!!
11/5/02 - have appt. with Dr. Anez on 11/11/02.
According to his office they are scheduling November appts. for surgery in January 2003 (of course, with insurance approval). What a way to start the New Year!
11/11/02 - met w/Dr. Anez. Very professional, direct and much to the point. Explained every detail of the surgery and left ample time for any questions. I got the impression that he likes well informed patients. Office staff very personable.
