Dr. Anez is extremely thorough and very careful about explaining the procedure and what to expect following surgery. I will say that his follow-up does leave something to be desired. When I scheduled my yearly check-up, I was on time for the appointment, but I waited over 45 minutes. When I finally got into his office to see him, he asked how everything was & only spent 5 minutes with me! That's follow-up???

A terrific and very caring doctor; I found his office staff very energetic to assist with arrangments and really went over the top to help with problems of appointments and various medical tests.
Doctor Anez was the doctoe for both my wife and my self and I really can't say enough praise for the wonderful change he has made in both of our lives.
The doctor and his staff are 100% PROFESSIONAL and cover EVERY aspect of the WLS process from "A-Z" and they are only a phone call away if ANY questions or concerns arise.
His competence and sugical skills are legions ahead of others we researched and was always friendly and some jovial during patient rounds at INOVA FAIRFAX

The only "NEGATIVE" aspect my wife and I have is the fifty mile drive from our home in Southern Maryland; but in reality consider it a cheap burden to bear to benifit from a quality office staff and a SUPERIOR care giver

I can't say enough about Dr. Anez. I was terrified of surgery. He was supportive during pre tests, pre-op, surgery , post op and even at follow up visits one year later. He thanked me for looking so good. His staff is just as wonderful!!!!

I have chosen recently to switch my surgeon, based solely on the fact that my local surgeon has an extremely poor and inefficient office staff. Sad but true.

7/18/03-- i met with dr.anez today and he was great with a quiet sense of humor. i enjoyed meeting him. while there i also had the opportunity to speak with some recent post-ops, and they answered alot of the questions i had. his office staff was also very kind and helpful. all i have to do now is sit back and wait for approval.

Dr Anez has a quiet competence about him. Very knowledgeable about this surgery. I was surprised to find that he has a great sense of humor. No hesitation about putting my life in his hands. His staff is wonderful! Office is extremely busy though - must have patience.

Dr. Anez was very polite and courteous. He informed me of the type of surgery he performs and how long it takes, what exactly the recovery / hospital stay should be. How to contact the Staple Club for support and information. Over all he took his time to explain everything, asked me if I had any questions etc. He seems to be a very good doctor and I have heard many compliments from other patients about him.
I would say that I have made a very good choice.

Dr. Anez seems to be very structured and everything in his office, including him, is very organized (albeit busy!). He's soft spoken, but thorough and willing to answer your questions readily - and I had a few. He speaks about every aspect of the procedure from pre-op care to after care, as well as the risks. From reading many many obesity forum posts on various websites, it seems that so many people aren't well informed by their doctors prior to surgery. Dr. Anez not only tells you everything, item by item, he provides a pamphlet about the surgery which covers everything from soup to nuts.

I've spoken to a number of patients who have had Dr. Anez for their surgeon and have yet to hear anything negative. That's one of the main reasons I chose him.

In addition to Dr. Anez' professionalism, my experience with his office staff thus far as been excellent as well.

Dr. Anez, although a little quiet for this highly extroverted girl, is a BREATH OF FRESH AIR. I feel very confident in his hands. His staff is warm and friendly and never make me feel bad for calling with all the questions i have!

His explanation of the procedure was complete and I feel very confident in Dr. Anez performing the surgery.

Dr. Anez came highly recommended from several people in my office who had underwent this surgery. I can see why. Although he is extremely quiet, he has a wonderful sense of humor. You can just tell when you meet him that he is a doctor that really DOES care about his patients. It was nice to be able to go into an office and actually SIT in a chair. His staff is professional, kind, and humerous. It was a really great experience. Certainly this is a difficult journey but it is not one that you feel you must go alone. He really IS one of the best doctors I have ever been to.
