Illinois Bariatric Center Bariatric Center

I first learned of Dr. Rohrscheib from my sister who is a nurse. He gave an inservice re bariatric surgery at the hospital where she works. A staff member had the RNY procedure and is doing great.
Dr. is very young but very experience in surgery and sprecializes in this. He is on staff at Carle in Urbana and studied at the UofI. I feel I am in very good hands.
The staff is excellent. I will tell you more later.
Dr. Rohrscheib was great. He knows his stuff. His aftercare program includes a dietician and I would rate him as excellent, overall.

My 1st impression of Dr. Rohrscheib is that he was quiet and kind of cute. But more important, he is gentle mannered. The office staff was knowledgeable, concerned and helpful. Very friendly. There was nothing that I did not like about Dr. Rohrscheib. Future patients should be prepared with questions. Dr. Rohrscheib takes his time and answers all questions. Aftercare is very much emphasized. I was told/warned about complications & future life with vitamins, new stomach. I feel I am more aware of WLS/aftercare after meeting with Dr. Rohrscheib.
The aftercare program is structured. The aftercare meetings are laid out for you and it is stressed that care is for lifetime.
Risks of surgery are all laid out.
I rate him and his staff a 9 on a scale of 1-10.
I had my surgery 4/18/03. Dr R's bedside manner was wonderful. He saw me everyday at the hospital. The surgery went wonderful as well. He is just wonderful.

That he was real young.
Once we talked he seems very imformative, and concerned.
Staff was great, they did everything for me, in regards to the paper work.
There wasnt really anything i didn't like about him. After surgery I had a small problem and instead of having to talk to a nurse, he insisted I take his personnel cell phone number and call him with any problems. He truly cares what happens and about our health.
I thought my 2 Weeks check up was a bit short, but i am doing great and he didnt have any concerns about my over all health and incision.

DR. r is a great doc he is learning just like the rest of us he takes time out with every body and he help u all he can He still helps me and all my needs the best that he can he still help outher people that has had him alongtime ago and that is what i still like about him he is very staight forward and will let ya know if u need it and what he can do
his office ladies are great rita will allmost bend over backwards for ya and help u will all she can and the outher ladies make u feel so much at home there when u go in there
i dont think that i really found any thing i dont like about him
that he is straight forward with ya and he will help u any allmost any way
alot he dosent want to see ya come back for the sugury agian so they make sure u are doing the things right
all in all he is a great doc and ive known lots of patients he has done and he is great with them out of a scale of 1 to 10 i give him 10 because he helped me live

I had talked to his office person, Rita several times before this and she was really, really nice and helpful. The Illinois Bariatric Treatment center that he runs in Clinton, Illinois is fairly new and operates out of a small hospital but I think that Dr. R will help put Clinton on the map as far as WLS is concerned. It is only about 20 minutes from my home and there is something appealing and comforting in that "small-town-down-home" kind of atmosphere!

At first Dr. Rohrscheib seemed very business like and not personable. His personality warmed up as the consultation progressed. He was very knowledgeable and shared very valuable information. He did not sugar coat anything nor did he try to scare you. He answered questions very direct. He would not answer questions he was unable to answer. He would draw diagrams to help illustrate the surgery which I found helpful. His office help was very nice and helped make you feel at ease. Rita shared much knowledge about the surgery as well as the insurance part of it. She shared information that Dr. R had not given to us about the surgery. The aftercare program seems adequate. I don't recall hearing any mention about groups to attend for aftercare. The aftercare comes by way of seeing the nutritionist. I was impressed by the knowledge of both Dr. Rohrscheib and his staff. I would rate this overall visit as an 8. As for Dr. Rohrscheib, I would rate his knowledge at a 9. His skills as a surgeon I hope are a 10, but since I am pre op, I do not know what I would rate him yet!

When I first met Dr. Rohrscheib I had really good feelings about him. He explained the procedure and the risk involved. He looks very young but he is very qualified as a surgeon. He has a wonderful office staff that helps you in every way. I have an appointment to meet with his dietician on Feb 25-03. I have heard that they have a wonderful aftercare program. My surgery is on March 7-03. I am getting nervous. When it comes to a hospital stay I think that surgical competence and bedside manner are a must for the overall well being of the patient,as well as Nursing care. I fully trust Dr. Rohrscheib and his staff!
