At first I was a little intimidated, but I got over that quickly. The office staff is great. They remember my name and everything...Dr. Rohrscheib is a nice guy, he is very thourough (if that is how you spell it) about explaining the options and risks of surgery. I think the aftercare program is great...and of course nobody likes scars but as far as scars go i love it...I am very greatful to have him for my surgeon, and I would definately recommend him to people...

my first impression was that he was very business like.he doesn't mince words- to the point. my husband says he's awfully young. now that i am postop(as of 10/29/03) i was concerned that my dr did not use a followup call. its those little things that count. i felt that he was a capable surgeon. aliilte more amenitities, warmth and caring might help him. The hospital and office both emphasize call if any questions or concerns, but a heads up call would have been nice. i would probably give him and eight out of ten. i didn't see him the day of surgery but daily next 2 days.i was in extreme pain immediately postop. i am a nurse and realize that one cannot have surgery without some pain, but this was awful. i hope i never have to have surgery agin. john warner hospital staff were all very wonderful people.maybe one nurse during my stay there. my daughter stayed with me and i encourage you to take someone with you to asist. this would have been very difficult to have experineced by myself. an extra pair of eyes and hands are always beneficial to the patien t and to the hospital staff.

Dr Rohrscheib is a wonderful doctor! He has helped me with the biggest struggle of my life! His office staff was very helpful in getting all of the paperwork to my insurance. I just basically had to have surgery. When I went for my 6 month post-op Rita was very excited about my before picture and the way I look now..it was very exciting...BIG change. Dr. Rohrscheib has always been there when I needed him after surgery when I had my minor problem. He has a good bed side manner and is very easy to talk to. I thank him for doing these surgeries and helping me!! I had the LAP and was very glad I waited for him to do it.

Dr Rohrscheib- He was my surgeon.. I did not have a good opinion of him at first but then throughout my surgery I feel that i got to know him better.. He really had to take care of me after all my complications, but I am not so bitter anymore about all that.. Being that it was not his fault.

His office staff is wonderful. They are all so nice and very helpful. I was really paranoid after all of this surgery and they were there to answer any of my questions.

for future patients-I would just make sure that you are totally comfortable with him and make sure that you ask all questions before time.. because i thought that i was prepared but i was not ..

the risks of surgery- surgery risks are always there but I was either niave about the whole thing or it was not presented to me in a strong enough manner,.. Because i just thought that i would be fine and nothing would happen to me.;. Well i was so wrong ..

With Dr Rohrscheib his bed side manner is not that great but he is nice once you get past that whold dr thing, but i would rather have a better surgeon then someone nicer

April 2003~I had a consult with Dr. Rohrscheib of the Illinois Bariatric Center on April 14, 2003. He was very handsome, very nice, very laid back, and answered all of my questions. And I had alot. He explained the surgery process. I already had a basic idea of it, but he confirmed that. He told us his mortality rate, complications rate, and such. His office staff was very nice. Rita, the office manager, was very helpful, providing me with phone numbers and names I could contact to see if they were covered by my insurance.

July 4, 2003~I saw Dr. R. on the morning of surgery in my hospital room. He was making sure I was ready to go, asking me how I was feeling and such. I then saw him the day before I was to leave the hospital. He wanted to make sure I was getting along fine. And I saw him again the morning I was being discharged. He sat down with me and answered the few questions I had and seemed as if he genuinely care about my well being. He seems a bit quiet, but is very professional and seems very nice.

July 28, 2003~I had a minor complication. I called the office to inform them. I was able to speak to Dr. R. directly to explain the problem I was having. He gave me instructions to follow. I ended up having an outpatient procedure, two days later. Dr. R. came into my room before surgery to say a few words with us, to make sure I was okay and ready to go. And after surgery, he again came into my room to explain what he'd discovered. I am pleased to have a surgeon who takes the time for his patients.

I thought Dr. Rohrsheib was great. Extremely nice and friendly. He explained everything about the surgery to me in detail, including the risks and possible complications and also gave me printed information. He answered all the questions I asked. And his office staff is really friendly and efficient.

Dr. Rohrscheib seemd very bright and very dedicated to bariatric surgery. My experience has been good thus far.

Dr. Rohrschieb is easy to look at and easy to talk with. He is very knowlegeable about this subject and I never felt like I was taking on an extraordinarily high-risk surgery. He shared what he knew and let me make an informed decision.I liked that he did not over-emphasize the phychological impact of WLS.
EATING: It's a major change in your life - it is not your life. At this point in my life I had tried everything short of turning inside out and he knew that. He also took into account my profession - counselor - and helped work the surgery around my schedule.
He made sure the hospital had adequate facilities for the obese and his staff was always friendly and professional.
I highly recommend Dr. Rohrscieb - he gets an A+.
Oh, the negative side was learning to pronounce his name, think of Rorschach inkblot test and change the "ach" to "ibe". He is a great choice for your doctor for this surgery.

My first impression of Dr. R was that he was very professional and knew what he was talking about. He told me all about the surgery (detailed) and told me the risks of the surgery. His staff is wonderful, they are very nice and willing to help in any way.I would recommend Dr. R and his staff to anyone for this surgery.
