Chicago Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery Bariatric Center
I had surgery 3 months ago in September, at the time of my surgery I weighed 270lbs and my height was 5'5\". Now 3 months after surgery I lost 62lbs. I feel great, I used to have heartburn and sleep apnea, but now I dont have any of these problems. Before I had the surgery I was affraid of stairs, and now I am not! I have a higher endurance that enables me to play an active role with my children and work and life in general. Everyone is amaized at how different I look I get great complements. It's a wonderful feeling. More good is yet to come!!!
It took me 4 years to make the phone call, and I got sicker and sicker. I'm glad i mad the phone call, I did not do it for the weight loss alone but also to get well. The side affects of my medications had bad side effects and that's why I decided to come in. The surgery was not that bad, and the recovery gets better day by day. I have lost 17 1/2 lbs in 10 days.rnI have only had to take medicine one time since the surgery. Dr. Frantzides is a very warm and kind person. He makes you feel very warm, and he understands how you are feeling. He stays in touch with and checks to see how you are doing. I have already recommended people to Dr. Frantzides. He took alot of my fear away.
I was introduce to Dr Frantzides from my family Dr. My first office visit I was impressed with Gerrie who works in the office & with Dr Roberts. Upon meeting Dr Frantzides I immeadiataly felt very confident that I would have the surgury. So confident that before I left his office I had my surgury date set for Oct 1, 08.Dr Frantzides was very enthusiactic to help me. Let alone he has this great sence of making you feel like you know him for many years. And that he is not just your Dr but a friend. He has a great sence of humor and a very warm smile. He became my Rober DiNiro.rnI had my surgury Wednesday Oct 1, and I was home on Thursady the 2nd. Yes you will have some pain. But I excepted much worse then what it is. Every day it gets better. I have called the office maybe twice asking some questions and again the staff is EXCELLANT.After one week post-op I lost 16 lbs. I am now eating small amounts of soft food such as eggs, Farina, Oatmeal, jello etc.rnWho would of thaught after one week 1 scrambled again would fill me up. My husband & I have gone out every day shopping and doing some small walks. I do our household chores. Today we went to the YMCA which we are members my husnad went swimming which I can't do until the incisions heal. But I did walk about a quarter of a mile today. I plan on going back tomarrow and walk some more.rnI'm so glad I made this decision to have the surgury. For I feel Dr Frantzides extened my life at least another 20 years. So watch out you young ones I know have a new lease on life at the age of 65 years young.rnGammie
I was introduced to Dr. Frantzides through a girlfriend of mine who had the laproscopic bypass procedure done. My first impression of Dr. Frantzides was great. He has a wonderful personality and every question or concern I had he answered with honesty and senserity. The staff there is excellent and take the time to sit and get to know you not only as a patient but a friend. Before my surgery I was aware of any and all risks that could occur but after talking with Dr. Frantzides I was just so comfortable and I knew everything would be okay. I was in the hospital for one day and up and walking a couple hours after surgery. I lost 18 pounds in one week and I'm very pleased . Dr. Frantzides and his staff are amazing and I have no regrets once so ever about having had this surgery. I love it!
I had my initial office visit with the doctor yesterday. I was very impressed with both the ladies working up front and the doctor and his fellow. rnrnSo far, everything is going great. Every question I could possibly have had was answered and I know that I can call if I have any questions. rnrnupdate:rnI am still impressed with the Doctor and his staff. The surgery was \"textbook\" (his words), we spoke before surgery and probably after, too but that is all a blur, of course. He saw me the next morning very promptly and said I could go home that day! rnrnI had my one week appt today and everything went great and all of my questions were answered and I'm so glad I found him. There isn't anything I do not like so far about the way his office is run or the staff. I especially like Dr. Roberts, also.
When I first meet Dr. Frantzides he had a welcoming smile, a good sense of humor, and he was very enthusiastic to help me. He is 100% comitted to his patients, he is also very attentive to his patients. Dr. Frantzides communicates very well with all of his patients. Overall, I would say he is an great man with a great heart. I would put my life in his hands anyday. Dr. Frantzides is the real thing. Dr. Frantzides office staff were wonderful.
Wow. It's been three months since my surgery and I feel awesome. My back pain that limited me to not doing much is gone. I am able to walk, run, play with my kids again. I feel like I'm alive. I know that if it had not been for Dr. Frantzides and his staff I would not be here. Throughout the initial stage of debating surgery up to now, post op, he and his staff have been great. They've answered all of my questions, given me the information that I've needed to maintain my heatlh, and even referred me to a good doctor who could help me when I moved out of state. I still wanted to come back and follow up with Dr. Frantzides though because I was going to be in town and who better to see than the Dr. who performed my surgery. They put me at ease about finding a good referral when I moved out of state, but as I mentioned, I still wanted to come back and have Dr. Frantzides do my follow up. Even now, my health is great. My stomach isn't upset, I'm alot more conscious about what I put in my mouth. I pay attention to what I eat and I'm eating healthier than I was before surgery. I've just been released to be able to do excerises, so I can't wait to start working out. Who would've thought that in just three months so much would change for me. Thanks so much Dr. Frantzides and staff!
I am currently 10 days post op. I am very impressed with Dr. Frantzides and his entire staff. They are always willing to answer any questions I might have. I had my surgery done at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston. I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the nursing staff was. My stay was quick and easy. I would highly suggest anyone considering WLS to set up a consultation with Dr. Frantzides. Once you meet him you will be put at ease and ready to start a new life!
Wow!!! This was the best 50th birthday present ever - both for myself and my family.rnrnI am one month past surgery and have lost a pound a day. I cannot say enough about this fabulous man and his surgical skills.rnrnI now feel as if I can plan for a future - before I wasn't sure how long I had. My three teenage daughters are thrilled and their support has been amazing. Friends have been helpful (my walking team) and very emotional (one cried when I told her I was going to have the surgery).rnrnIf you are thinking about this, please do it. I was instantly at ease with Dr. Frantzides and his staff are top rate.rnrnLife is so short - sieze every moment you can. Best of luck to all of you.
