Chicago Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery Bariatric Center
I had a long wait in the waiting room on my first visit. The office staff, was nice and very apologetic. I then met with Dr. Atul Madan a Co-Doctor who explained much of the procedure and answered many of my questions. After speaking with Dr, Atul, I met with of Dr. Frantziides. My impression was that of a person who is very confident he explained much about the surgery and also of his background, which is extensive in this field. I felt that he knew his profession well and was very comfortable talking about it. He answered all of my questions and took his time to explain the procedure. I would recommend him to any and everyone who is considering WLS. Hopefully without the wait!
My aunt had rny done by Dr. Frantzides in december. She has done so well. So i called his office to see if i could get and appt. so i could get things started. First they werent going to beable to get me in untill Jan.30 for my consoltain. I asked them if they would call me if they had any cancellations because my aunt had to be back in to see him on Jan 17 and we had a long drive andthat would make it easier on both of us Dr.Frantzines himself okayed this and i got to see him with my aunt.
He asked me alot of questions and examined me. He wasnt real sure if he could do a lap. on me because scare tissue but that he would try. He asked me about my insurance. I have medicaid/medicare. He then told me there would been no problem in them paying for it but they sometimes take a month to okay it so my surgery was sit for March 6. He told me of all the risks and what to expect after surgery. I was satisfied and i felt secure in having in done by the time i left his office .
He has a very structured care plan for post
surgery patients one week, three weeks, one month and three months. I would rate him and his staff a 10.All asspects of surgery are important but i would say surgical competence is most important.
