Just a great surgeon.
my first impression was good. I found her very informative and with me being an rn I wanted every detail explained to me. I first met her in a group session then on an individual basis the same day.
The office staff was great, especially Beth, she was always prompt in getting back to me and answering my questions.I really havent found anything I havent liked about Dr. Jones, but one thing I do like is she has small hands and told us her incision is usually 3 inches long. They have aftercare and a dietician you can meet with also you can make an appt. to see Dr. when needed. They want you to attend classes monthly I believe they are nutrition classes.
Dr. told us like any other surgery there is risks for blood clots so now she puts you on Heparin for a few days to prevent them.
So far I rate the Dr. high on what I have been through but the real tale is yet to come.I hope and pray everything goes well and I out of the hospital in 2 to 3 days as planned.
My first impression was that she was very busey. She kept her head down while she read my chart as she came and sat down. She was polite yet rushed. She also tried to steer me away the laprascopic version. She said insurance charged more. Did she not think that I might want to pay the difference. I hope she put it in the letter to the insurance asking for a lap. I guess the least thing I liked was that she was rushed.
Upon consulting with Dr. Rosemarie Jones, my impression was someone who was very busey. My consult with her was maybe 10 minutes. She also tried to tell me the lap. was more expensive and that most insurance will not cover it. She definitely wanted to steer me away from it. I am awaiting to hear from m-plan for hopefully phase II of their process.
After leaving Dr. Jones office I definitely felt like a number, not a person.
I found Dr. Jones to be genuinely caring, concerned, and very easy to talk to and my impression of her has only improved with time.
Her office staff are competent but very busy.
Be prepared to wait when you are scheduled to see her, she is VERY busy.
Dr. Jones is committed to aftercare with regular office visits, dietian visits and support group.s
I was fully aware of all risks and she answered all my questions.
Dr. Jones is the best. I would highly recommend her.
She seemed very nice the first time but I didn't have a chance to talk to her privately until the 2nd time. At that time I found that she was wonderful, very friendly, caring and personable. The office staff were not as quick to help as I had hopped. But Jean at the St. Vincient Carmel Bariatric Center was very patient through the frustation of dealing with the insurance company. They have a one year follow up program. She addressed the risks of surgery very well. I'd rate Dr. Jones A plus at this point. I believe that both surgical competence and bedside manner go hand in hand and are equally important for the well being of the patient.
I had orientation on 2/6/02. Dr. Jones discussed the history of wls, procedures, after-care, etc... Then we waited around for her to be able to meet with us one on one. I met with her for maybe 5 minutes. That really isn't enough time to get the impression that a doctor cares about you as more than a procedure, but then again I do realize that there were a lot of us there that day. I only dealt with Beth, who was wonderful. Surgical competence is, of course, the most important, but bedside manner is important too.
Now I begin the insurance game. I am waiting for the letter from the surgeon and then ....
Dr. Jones and her staff, especially "Beth" have been wonderful. Although I met with her intern, Dr Jones met with all of us in a group setting and could'nt have been any more compassionate, had I been her own family. Her assistant Beth wa super in answering all my questions and promptly returning all phone calls. My surgery has been moved up to 02/04/02 and I am so excited. I feel totally comfortable with my decision to have the surgery thanks to Dr. Jones and her assistant Beth who answered all my questions.
I will up date on the aftercare at a later time.
