I met with Dr. Jones after the intial group consultation. I found her pleasant and easy to talk to. I have not seen her since, but have found all the people in her office helpful and the people at the Bariatric Center at St. Vincent's. One of the reasons I chose this program was because it seems to be well structured. I first met with Dr. Jones the beginning of February and my surgery date was set for 6 months later. I didn't expect such a long wait, but I fiqure it took me more than six months to gain this weight, so I can wait. Most of the time seems to be because of consultation appointments.

I liked Dr. Jones and her mannerisms. I especially liked how she answered all of my questionsont he first visit.

I realize that I have only met her once but she and her staff have been most helpful. I met her in a group meeting back in October. I was denied by my insurance company so her staff assisted me in finding a company that would approve it. They did and I switched during open enrollment. I now am scheduled for surgery in June. It semed like a lifetime but as the days click by and the months are torn from the calendars, I realize that June is just around the corner.

I will update later after my surgery

So far I have only met Dr Jones but her staff has been great! I can talk with Dr. Jones or anyone on her staff at anytime.
I went to my pre-op class last Tuesday and learn so much. Her staff is very well informed and passes the information along well. I'll update more later.

She was very understanding and
caring. She was very informative
about the surgery, the set backs,
What to expect during lthe surgery.
What to expect afterward. The staff was quite
helpful in scheduling appointments.
Doctor Jones is the sweetest doctor I
Have ever Had. And I have had my share
of Surgries. I was also informed about
the support groups and where to find them.
The only problem I had after surgery was
one year later I had to have a revision
done because of ulcers. I was told this
was a possibility for people who had the surgery. The surgery that was done was a RNY.
One other thing I found out about the 2 surgerys that I had were the least painful.
The pain was just like having done 50 situps.
No more No less.

I thought she was very thorough in her
explanations and our discussion of what kind
of surgery was best for me. The staff has been
helpful when I have called, and been very
quick to call me back with information.

I have not had an opportunity to meet with
Dr. Jones again since my initial visit. The
insurance process took so long that I am now
getting ready to start the pre-op classes.

I went to my initial consultation on the 26th of January. My appointment was at 1:00PM. It was a group appointment, so they brought everyone back individually to make sure that all paperwork and information was in order before she talked to us as a group. I had my parents go with me, because they were very down on this idea. I told them to wait until they could hear the surgery explained to them from Dr. Jones. The meeting started at about 2:30. My guess is that it is planned this way so that discussion takes place within the group of people. Anyway, she was very informative. She explained the positives and negatives that will and could occurr. She went through the surgeries and said the ones that she prefers to do, what the benefits of each are, and possible problems related with each. My parents told me to go for it(I would have done it anyway, but a parental blessing goes a long way). I then met with her individually. She went over my individual case. She believed that I have Sleep Apnea and I definitely have Hypertension, High Cholesterol, and my family has a history of heart attacks at an early age. With a BMI of 41, along with my co-morbidities, she was confident that my insurer, Anthem BCBS, would approve me. One other thing....they have you list every diet you have ever been on, the approximate date, how much you lost/gained, and what the results were. I don't know about the rest of you, but that took me a while to put down on paper, so you may want to do it ahead of time. I am rambling, but I hope this info helps someone to understand the process. I will update after my approval.....I would give her a 10 at this point.........

Dr. Jones is wonderful. She is seems to have a sincere interest in where I want to be with my weight and offers suggestions about how to achieve those goals.

I saw Dr Jones on August 30 for my initial consult. She was very friendly, yet very professional. I especially appreciated her interest in MY input on which procedure to pursue. She asked whether I had a personal preference for RNY or gastroplasty. I told her I actually had a very strong preference, simply because I wanted as little anatomical change as possible. She didn't bat an eye, just wrote it down in my file. She seemed knowledgeable about insurance types, being able to discuss specific requirements of my insurance. I was impressed. Her office was prompt in sending out predetermination package to insurance and courteous as I called occasionally for updates on the approval process. Approval came Oct 4, and I was quickly scheduled for preop testing on December 13, the soonest we could get in with the pulmonologist. Pre-op classes at the hospital were set for Dec. 16 and a surgery date of Jan 10. Her office staff was prompt and courteous in handling all these things. I had questions to ask Dr Jones and scheduled an extra appointment with her prior to surgery. She spent roughly an hour with my family and me answering all our questions. She was thorough and willing to spend however much time it took. Day of surgery, she came in wearing her "street clothes" and spent some time making sure I was comfortable and showed great concern. She is technically skilled to be able to complete the procedure with a tiny 3.5 inch incision! After surgery, she was caring, attentive and very interested in what I had to say. I recommend her highly!

My surgeon is great!!! She's very compassionate, kind and caring. She listens when you have questions -- she never seems to be too busy to answer all this besides being a skillful surgeon.

My first impression of Her Dr. Rosemarie Jones. Was that she was very caring, and that she understood that not everybody can lose weight with diet and excerise.
Since my surgery she and her staff keep me motivated.
Her staff was woderful and always helpful.
There is nothing that I like least about her.
As for the after care - watch what you eat and do your walking, etc. The surgery is not enough I takes a lot of work on your side also.
Check up at 6 weeks, 12 weeks, 6 months, 9 months, and a year. At these times you also meet with a dietian. You can also call or go and see the dietian at any time that you need them. They also offer monthly support groups, that help.
Yes, she did address the risks of the surgey - but also told us the risk of staying overwieght.
I would give her a high rating and recommend her.
Both were great.
If this sounds to positive I'm sorry but I have had great succes so far.
