Bariatrics and Medical Weight Loss North - Community Health Bariatric Center
I met with Dr. Ditsler on 9-4-02. He is young and very nice looking, but most importantly he is nice and patient and warm and friendly. He answered all of my questions and he was funny too! He seemed impressed by all the reaserch I have done, not intimidated like some doctors might be. Everyone at Winlife is wonderful!!!!! So very nice and friendly. I am looking forward to my first support meeting this Thursday.
Dr.Ditslear was great! He was very informative and addressed risks as well as how wls would change my life. We discussed surgery options and I will have the RNY. I would rate him so far an A-. The only thing I can say negative (if you can call it that) is plan to be there for a while because he does take his time with each person!!!!

I was very impressed with Dr.Jones. She is a small woman and I kept wondering if she has to stand on a stool to do the surgery. She was very well prepaired with the information that she gave us and really answered about every question I had before I ever asked it. I feel confident in her skills because I have friend's who had her for their doctor. They are all doing well and are very happy that they had it done. I am going by what my friend's told me. They said she was very kind and listened to what they said and took good care of their needs. The office staff have been very helpful. My husband did most of the calling and kept on top of things. The office has so much going right now I think it is easier for us to do the calling and it helped to keep things moving so that I could get a date as soon as I could. Dr. Jones does stress the after care and I know the girls I work have gone back for check up's by Dr. Jones and have gone to the dietetion and have gotten help from her on what to eat and where they needed to enclude more protein. I am very encouraged. The only negative thing I have to say is that the office staff seemed to be overwhelmed by all the surgeries that are on the book and We had to stay on top of things. I do think it helped the staff by us taking the responsiblity to follow up on things.
My first impression was, wow, he's young. But he is experienced and will also have the assistance of another surgeon. The staff at WinLife is awesome. They have an awesome aftercare, which is very important to me. He addressed the risks of surgery and also the benefits. He has a very caring bedside manner.
First Consultation scheduled for April 23, 2002.. Wish me luck...
Appointment was cancelled due to lack of insurance approval for the referral. I have to wait for 6 months of doctor supervised weight loss attempts. I will say that I have spoken with Janie several times. She is so attentive. I have not met anyone from the office personally yet, but they all seem to really care... I can't wait!
I met her yesterday, August 14th, I was very pleased by her manerisms and knowledge... WOW.. She is definately the best choice for me.. I would recomend her to anyone...
My initial appointment with Doctor Jones on May 29, 2002, was to discuss abdominal adhesions. However, I had been thinking about bariatric surgery for quite some time and decided to discuss my options with her. I found her to be extremely professional as well as genuinely interested in my history, concerns, questions and feelings. I left her office feeling resolved and comfortable with my decision to have surgery. She will either fit me in if there is a cancellation or I will most likely be scheduled for mid-July. I will go through surgery preparation and have any other questions answered during a day-long session. Her office staff was friendly and accomodating. That is all I know thus far. I would recommend her.
Pre-Op Consult...Dr. Jones was very nice and understanding. The only thing I didn't like was that if you're not organized when she walks in for the one-on-one consultation, you may feel flustered or rushed. She has a lot of people to see in a limited amount of time. But I will say that she is very personable, honest and answers all of your questions thoroughly. She even agreed to let me listen to my calming tape on head phones while in surgery. ~~~~ I have a surgery date set up for June 7, 2002 for Laproscopic RNY. I'm curious to know if anyone else is researching this option (Lap) or if anyone has had laproscopic RNY with Dr. Jones. I'd love any and all feedback!

I had my lap RNY on June 6, 2002 and everything went great! I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon. I have had no physical complications since surgery and everything healed quickly. I even went back to work after only taking one week off for surgery and recouperation!!
He was very nice about answering question in the group part and when we were in there with him by ourself he was very easy to talk to. Never acted like he was in a hurry or that any question wasn't inportant. I like his staff, very considerate and helpful. can't say I disliked anything about Dr. Ditslear. So far I would rate him excellant.
His aftercare program is for 5 years. He address the risks of surgery just as much as he talked about the benefits.
