Bariatrics and Medical Weight Loss North - Community Health Bariatric Center
Dr. Jones at the first meeting seems compassionate and caring. The office staff seemed to be understanding and very helpful with obtaining insurance approval. Dr. Jones holds a "class" instructional 1st visit with approx 20-30 others and addresses the risks/benefits of surgery. Dr. Jones has a way of making you feel as though your best friend happens to be your surgeon.
My surgery was on Dec. 2 with Rosemarie Jones. She was able to do my laprny in 45 minutes!! No complications. I am so happy with her. She is so positive and helpful. I just love her smile. My only negative seems to be that my drain is leaking around the top. But if that is all I have to deal with, I am a lucky person.
I have only met Dr. Jones the one time (at my consultation). I found her to be very knowledgable on the RNY proceedure. She had performed this operation on a friend of a friend and was highly recommended. Her staff has been very helpful, however I had to do most of the insurance legwork myself. I don't mind now that I have been approved. I have completed all of my pre-op classes and evaluations and am scheduled for surgery December 20th 2002. I am excited and anxious at the same time.
Rosemarie had to see alot of people in a short period of time the first day. Over time I found her to take the time needed for each of her patients and she took the time to make you feel secure about the surgery. The office staff was great, they seemed to be right on top of things. I did not have any problems with them. There wasn't anything I did not like about Dr.Jones.
It takes about six months to get scheduled with Dr. JOnes after you get approval from insurance. She very much emphasizes aftercare. They also a very structured aftercare program. I think Dr. Jones was great. My surgery only took one hour and six minutes and I was discharged from the hospital within 48 hours. Suggestions: Walk, walk, walk....
It was very hard initially to get ahold of the office. Alot of phone tag. Once I got in contact with the office, was scheduled for consult in months. Was well worth the wait. She was very reassuring and said that I was a great candidate. What's hard now is that I saw her in June, just now got approval and it's mid Oct 2002. I was so ready when I saw her, I need to get myself syked again. Office staff was very kind. It was very busy! It was nice to be in a waiting room with others who understood what I was going through. While waiting, it was nice to have conversations with those in the waiting room. Even exchanged some emails addresses. Went into a small group session initially where she described the whole procedure and had a q&A session. Then got to see her one-on-one. It was a quick visit, but she had already answered alot of my questions in the group session. She put alot of stress on the aftercare program and also stressed that this isn't a "magic bullet", only a tool. She seems to have a great bedside manner and in doing research, appears to be surgically competent. If I had to pick surgical competence or bedside manner, I would pick surgical competence. I'm an RN and I know that some GREAT surgeons can be lousey at the bedside.
I liked doctor Jones. She seems to be a very matter-of-fact person. The office staff has be quit helpful. There seems to be a set pattern for their patients and they move things along in a timely manner. I can not say they went into detail of what the risks were, but did answer any questions that were ask. I feel comfortable with the office and the surgeon.
Originally I was to be seen by Dr. Nigh but when I got to the appointment they had put me onto Dr. Ditslear's caseload. At first I was disappointed because I had heard so many good things about Dr. Nigh. However, when I finally met Dr. Ditslear for our one-on-one I was really pleased that he would be my surgeon. My impression of him? He was very personable, open, mild-mannered and kind. He spent a lot of time with me. I never got the feeling that he wanted to be anywhere else but with me, explaining the different procedures and answering my questions. During that meeting with him I felt really confident. That's saying a lot because I always expect not to like physicians. When I meet one that I like then that's it - the search is over. I really appreciated him for that. My husband accompanied me to my consultation and I was really happy that he had a chance to meet Dr. Ditslear and voice his concerns. The amazing thing was that, prior to this meeting, my husband had been very leery of my having the surgery. He was supportive because he loves me but I still felt that he didn't want me to do it. After meeting Dr. Ditslear I really saw an immediate change in his attitude about the surgery. He was actually happy that I would be doing this! I can only attribute this to all of the information that he received which helped allay his fears. And eventhough I asked the same questions 5 different ways Dr. Ditslear still answered my questions and worked really hard to put us at ease and help me make a decision that I would be comfortable with.
I was also impressed with the Psychologist. She was very attentive and encouraging. She really made me feel at ease.

Dr Ditslear is a very kind and knowledgable surgeon. I have worked with him for several years in a critical care setting. He is a skilled surgeon and manages post-op progress very well.Staff at Winlife are helpful even though they are busy with a rapidly growing program. The aftercare program is included with surgery cost and is available for five years.Dr Ditslear gave a very detailed explanation of the surgery and the benefits and risks involved.Dr Ditslear is AAA plus!!
I went to Dr. Jones because of all the good things that I heard about her. She is the best....great "bedside approach". From day one, all associated with her were super..She seems to really care about her patients, from start to finish. The hospital experience was excellent...best care ever at St. Vincents.
