Dr. Burrowes was very professional, patient,
confident and personable. I carried 20 questions, most he answered before I asked.

I was very impressed with him. Because of his interest in my heath.

His staff is very, very busy (my view). But they get the work done.

He strongly emphasizes aftercare.

I'm not sure, I've been told that he has a good program.

He was realistic with me he talk about the positive and the negatives of the surgery.

I would very much like to have the surgery done before I can truthfully do an overall rating.

My first impression of Dr. Burrowes is that he was not too friendly, I just realized that he is direct and to the point. That's all, he's the serious type.

My impression of Dr. Burrowes remains the same.

As for the office staff. I love Catherine (head nurse), I like Monica and I don't too much care for anyone else, they tend to be rude.

I just hate that fact that my insurance is transferring to Humana, and Dr. Burrowes office is not a provider with Humana.

We haven't really gotten to that stage of after care yet.

Very direct and through is how I was addressed about the risks of surgery.

Overall, It was worth it, and I would do it again.

First of all I was thrilled to finally meet Dr. Burrowes. I waited 2 months for the appoinment and I was anxious to get it over with. First impression: I feel very comfortable with his expertise. He has a lot of experience and he trained with Dr. Fobi (I want the Fobi pouch). His staff was excellent, I met 3 of them they're busy but very courteous. So far I have not experience anything negative with his office. While I waited for my appointment, I was able to talk to people who were pre-op and post-op. I learned a lot from talking to them. Especially that patience is just a part of this process.

He was very kind and showed great concern for me and my friend that came to support me who also needs surgery. Not only did he answer just about all my questions before I could ask, he answered all my friends concerns and after my consultation she was convinced she needed his help, too. He let me know the seriousness of my decision. He has always responded to my emails promptly. His staff has been OK to deal with. They did move my date back almost 4 weeeks.I would suggest because he is dealing with such a larger volume of patients to make sure you have a good follow-up system for yourself. The staff is pleasant. He is a quiet man by nature I believe. But he doesn't have a problem speaking up to staff for his patients. Even my friend said he got the hospital staff in line for her when she had her WLS.
He has a growing support group, they are still working out kinks but for the most part are geninuely concerned. He stressed the change of lifestyle that would have to take place.
He is excellant. I'll have to comment later on last questions.

I'm 10 days post op,and I feel great! No nausea or vomiting. I have not only had to remind myself to eat I'm having a hard time remebering to drink. That's not good though. I went to first post op visit yesterday and had lost 20lbs. Dr. Case said I'm not drinking or eating enough and told me to get on a good multivitamin. I ordered my liquid vitamins I used to build my body when I was trying to get pregnant. They were great with immediate energy results especially the Get-Go-N product that is a B-vitamin energy drink that's not to be compared to anything in the regular market. The minerals and herbs found in the products I use are super. It won't be long before I'll be zooming around like I'm 25 again. I was just waiting on their OK. I'm trying my taste buds on some different protein drinks soon. But so far so good, I'm on the best side of life I've ever been in since I was twelve. I really feel like I have a chance! They have a printed program to use. But Dr. Burrowes prefers you find what works for you everyone is so different in toleration. Dr. Burrowes and his partner Dr. Case have great bedside manner, but Dr. Case is exceptionally sweet and comforting. His concern is their from the first word til he holds your hand when you leave. He's very touchable and caring, I love him! He is a good balance for Dr Burrowes who is to the point and reserved. But his surgical competence is second to none. I would not have wanted anyone other than him to do it for me. No doubt. They didn't miss a beat!

I have not met dr Burrowes yet, but I am excited about meeting him. I am changing doctors for a dlicate mishap. I was scheduled for surgery Nov. 8th by Dr Duncan his coordinator Joyce called and said that my surgery was cancelled because my BMI was over 50. I am not going to give up.

When I first laid eyes on Dr. Burrowes during my initial consultation I felt very comfortable from the very beginning. His office staff is quite busy but thats understandable due to the fact this surgery has become so popular and in high demand. Future patients should know that Dr. Burrowes means business. From the time he steps into the room until the time he steps out he remains very professional. In fact, I told him during our visit that I wanted to thank him for such an excellent consultation. He explained the surgical procedure and the different types of surgery to me in great detail. It was so well explained that a 5 year old child would have understood quite well. Dr. Burrowes also emphasize after care and explains the risks of surgery very well. Overall, I would rate Dr. Burrowes a 10.

IN MY JOURNEY TO FIND MY SURGEON I WAS LUCKY THAT MY MOTHER WAS A NURSE PLUS MY PCP BOTH REFERED HIM VERY HIGHLY. ON MY FIRST VISIT I HAD TO WAIT 3WEEKS TO SEE HIM,BUT IT WAS WELL WORTH THE WAIT. HE WAS VERY PATIENT IN ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAD AND WAS NOT IN ANY RUSH TO GET YOU OUT OF THE OFFICE.
HE WENT OVER EVERY POSSABILITY THERE WAS AND WE DECIDED BEFORE I LEFT. THEY HAD ME PREPARE BY DOING MY TEST WORK WHILE THEY SENT OFF FOR THE INSURANCE APPROVAL,WHICH LUCKILY WAS APPROVED THE 1ST TIME AROUND.THE OFFICE STAFF IS GREAT TO GET THE OTHER THINGS READY AND THE SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS ARE WONDERFUL TOO.DR BURROWES IS WONDERFUL.AFTER MY SURGERY DR BURROWES DID A EXCEPTIONAL JOB ON MY INCISION ABOUT THE SIZE OF YOUR MIDDLE FINGER AND DID A LITTLE XTRA SOMETHING FOR ME AS WELL. THANKS DR BURROWES .

Dr. Burrowes, was the most perfessional Dr. i think I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot, I tried a year ago with another Dr, he called and said I wasen't approved and couldn't be, I just cried and got so depressed, so I finelly called the ins, company after a year to find out why I was not approved, they said they didn't know anything about it, the Dr. never sent anything in, so I called Dr, Burrows office they are all so nice and working so hard to get me approved, they are sending the letter out as soon as I get the letter from my pcp for clearence, Dr. Burrowes spent more than an hour talking with me explaining every little detail with me, he is wonderful, I know he will work magic for me, he knows what he is doing, even if I don't get approved I thank him for the time he took with me, he made me feel like I was number one with him, not just another piece of meat,
He really emphasize's after care, he wants you to have a healthy life, and no trouble , he doesn't make any bones about it, he says it is very hard on you to change you're life so drastically and tink you will have no problems, he stress's the importance of taking you med, and you're life long goal . he told me the risk of the surger in detail, I rate him 100% for perfessionalizm, he has a gerat bed side manner and complete competence in him, he goes to washington to fight for our rights as people, he goes out of his was y for us above what he has to , he really cares, really!!!! about us.

My surgeon is Celio Burrows, in ATl. I met with him in march 2002. The visit went very well and told me about the differnt surgerys and the do's and dont's. I had already had a VGB surgery 10 years ago that failed. He said that the Fobe' would be the way to go. The only thing is that the ins companys dont pay for it, they will pay for the surgery but not the pouch. The charge for the fobe' is 4,000.00 OUCH! We sent the letter to Cigna to get the approval. I really loved the staff after the first visit, BUT! That has since changed. After another visit with another one of his patients and several phone conversations, I have decided that his office Manager is not only Rude but unprofessional. After they hook you and start the process with the ins co, it starts to change. If the ins co is a pushover and everything runs smoothly then its cookies and cream. BUT if they are a pain in the butt and several letters have to be sent things become LEMONS & ONIONS.

The doctor is wonderful, his nurse is GREAT, his phone help is fair and his office Manager......Well she s-x. Enough said!

I had my first visit with Dr. Burrowes, Thursday, Sep. 26th, waiting to be approved for the fobie pouch, but first I have a series of tests to have done.....(more fun)...lol.....I found Dr. Burrowes to be very informative, making sure to let me know all the risks involved in surgery.I did find the staff a little on the reserve side. I will keep posted all future developments as they occur.....but for now, just waiting.....ho..hum.
