Dr. Sherer was very nice and professional. I had had all pretesting done (psych, nutrition, pcp letter) before meeting with him.

His staff was incredible. I was approved May 18 but he couldn't schedule until July and I had commitments in Early August I couldnt miss so I waited until August 25.

Aftercare is emphasized by Dr. Sherer. He suggests a support group, but I have several friends that I get advice from. He said that is OK until I need more.

Risks were very up front. In fact due to my size and condition I was scheduled in Birmingham at Brookwood hospital. I have no regret on that.

Overall Dr. SHerer is the best. His surgical competence and bedside manner, as well as that of his partners and staff who made rounds the two days after surgery until I saw him on discharge day.

MY OPINION OF DR. SHERER WAS THAT HE WAS VERY NICE, UNDERSTANDING AND LISTENED TO WHAT I HAD TO SAY. MOST OF ALL HE GAVE ALL OF THE CREDIT TO GOD. AS FAR AS HIS STAFF, EVELYN WAS VERY SWEET AND DIDN'T GET UPSET NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I CALLED HER.

Dr.Gardner was the very knowledgeable, straightforward type. His staff was really kind on my first visit and they took care of everything surprising fast. I had previously submitted my insurance information to BCBS with Dr.Les Miles office, therefore, I had my first consultation, insurance approval, and surgery date all in the same day!

HE WAS A WONDERFUL AND CARING DOCTOR.HE REMAINED AS WONDERFUL AS THE FIRST TIME I MET HIM.THE STAFF WAS VERY NICE AND TALKED TO YOU WITH KINDNESS.AS FAR AS THE SURGERY AND THE OVERALL CARE,I COULDNT ASK FOR ANYONE I WOULD FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE WITH OR LIKED.

He was wonderful. I really liked my surgeon. He was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions. He took very good care of me.

The entire staff at Cahaba Valley Surgical Group is amazing. Once I arrived for my initial consultation, the nurse seated my mother in a comfortable sitting room where I would return to watch an informative video. The nurse took me to weigh, get height and to check my blood pressure. I went back to watch the video with my mother and was put into a room promptly. Dr. Gardner came in and introduced himself. He gave very detailed information regarding his training and experience. He covered all aspects of the surgery including the risks. He explained what to expect during and after the surgery. I would recommend him to anyone in the Central Alabama area. They were very quick in sending me the medical records, and this was appreciated.

Dr. Sherer did not seemed rushed when I met with him for my consult. He carefully explained the procedure and the pro's and con's of having the surgery and of open verses laproscopic surgery. Then, he allowed me ample time to ask any questions and make any comments I felt he needed to know about me. He orders additional test/consults according to that individual patients needs. With my history and comments made on the questionaire, he decided that I needed a sleep study only. As it turned out, I did have sleep apnea. I have heard nothing but good comments about him and I feel totally comfortable allowing him to do my surgery.

Dr Sherer is a great doctor I Love him !!! I trust him with my life ...and his staff is great ....wouldnt go to anyone else with this

Dr. Sherer seemed very caring and concerned about my wellbeing. He answered all of my questions and treated me with dignity and respect.
