The first impressin of Dr. Stahl was great.
My impression is still the same.
The office staff was very helpful in understanding the surgery.
Everything was great.

Dr. Stahl is a kind and understanding man as well as an excellent surgeon. I continue to have high regard for him. His office staff is professional and supportive. I can think of nothing I dislike about Dr. Stahl. Dr. Stahl is honest about the successes and the complications that he has encountered with his patients. He does everything possible to do the surgery laparascopically vs open so that healing time and time off work is lessened. He listened to my questions and what I wanted for my experience and did all that he could to ensure that it went well. Dr. Stahl has a very good follow up program.
Overall I would rate Dr. stahl as a 10 out of 10. Dr. Stahl is an excellent surgeon and has a great bedside manner. (so do his partners)

I have had an exceptional experience with my surgery. I was fortunate not to have any post-op complications and have tolerated foods very well. I have not "dumped" at all and have not found it difficult to stay with the post-op recommendations of my surgeon.

I often feel that I am not the person for a pre-op patient to talk with as I have not had any negative experiences. I am a registered nurse and know the risks of this surgery and that it is a very serious decision for anyone to make...but I also know that so many people hear only the bad outcomes and complication stories that it is sometimes good for someone to talk with someone who has done well.

Even if I never lose another poound, I am grateful for having had the surgery beause I feel so much better and am able to exercise again.

I have only had the one consultation with Dr. Stahl, but he seems very competent and trustworthy. I will write more when I've had more contact with him. But so far, so good.

I had read many patient comments on this site about Dr. Stahl which made me feel more confident in my decision to use him. I noticed a couple of Brookwood nurses had used or were about to use him for their surgery. Since those nurses are his peers, I really put a lot of stock in what they had to say about his skills. Also, while in the hospital one of the nurses told me that the Cahaba Valley Surgical group of doctor's patients had very few complications. Dr Stahl has a very congenial personality, which comes in second to his skill as a surgeon.

Dr. Sherer was excellent. He was very up front in the beginning about the risk I was taking and the serious committment I was embarking upon.

My impression of him has not changed over time except that he has becoming exceedingly more compassionate and encouraging. Tactful.

Dr. Sherer's office staff was very helpful. I've had several instances where I needed information and wanted to ask questions, they were great.

Future patients should know that he will help you as long as you are compliant after surgery.

He emphasizes aftercare a great deal, especially vitamins. Also counseling if he feels you are a candidate.

They have a support group for his patients.

I'd give him a 10/10 overall. I'm alive and healthy and almost at goal.

Both are great. He calmed me down in the holding room while I was about to have a panic attack.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. SHERER WAS NICE. MY MOTHER WENT WITH ME AND SHE ALSO LIKE HIM. HE WAS VERY HELPFUL AND HE ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS AND HE WAS VERY HONEST.

Dr. Stahl was straight to the point of all the risks and complications. I like him before going under I saw him and he asked if everyhting was ok. He was really great. You should know that he is not a real talker, he will say what he has to say and answer any questions. He is a real surgeon type. But thats what I likee. I wanted someon who was as serious about this as I was.

When I first met Dr. Sherer I felt at ease right away. I and my wife both felt he is a caring man and does not think he is god or has the power of life like some docs who are full of themselves. I think he is a down to earth person. All of the people in the office were very nice and pleasant. He went over the surgery with a video and after a brief physical exam he asked and answered a lot of questions. The dr. laid out all of the risks of this surgery including death as a possibility.

Dr. Shere was the best dr. a person could have. He had very good bed side manners, he's a christian. His office was very clean, everything in place His staff very prompt.
He look as much time as i needed to get allow of my questions and my fears addressed. If i have to do it a thousand times dr shere would be my surgeon everytime.

Dr. Stahl was kind, very professional, and direct. He explained the procedure and went into all the risks involved after the surgery. The office staff was great. Very friendly and courteous. There was hardly any waiting. Everything was smooth and organized.
