The first impression I had gotten from Dr. Sherer was, he is very knowledgable and from a spiritual perspective as well. Over time I had total peace with him and his staff. The staff was very helpful and showed alot of encouragement before and after my surgery. They emphasize the importance of aftercare as it is in succeeing with the weightloss. I was very impressed with him and his staff would highly recommend him for any surgery. I think having bedside manners and surgical competence are very important in finding the right doctor. You have to be comfortable with who you decide to choose.rnrnRYN

He is a wonderful christian man. I can't say enough good things about him and the staff at Shelby medical center in Alabaster alabama. I have not found a thing that i dislike about this doctor. Surgery is only a small part of the journey, its up to the patient of follow through with the aftercare and dedication. His bedside manner is both professional and courteous. All risks and stats were covered both in the counsultation and written information. Dr. Sherer is a perfect \"10\" in my book.

He is super fantastic! I would recommend him to everyone !! his group has the most experience in gastric bypass surgery in the state of Alabama ! My best friend used him 8 yrs. ago and is doing great still !!

My first impression of Dr. Stahl was very positive. He took time with me and made sure I understood all the ins and outs of my surgery. The staff in his office were great. Totally supportive. Never minded my questions (and I called daily!) Overall I rate him a 10!!! Surgical competence? He took the extra time to do my surgery laproscopically insted of open - made all the difference in recovery. Another surgeon would have taken the easy way out. I cannot recommend Dr. Stahl highly enough!

Dr. Sherer and all his staff at Cahaba Valley Surgical are great!! My surgery was December 29, 2006. I had a great experience at Shelby Baptist. I was on the orthopedic wing. Beth, Amy, and all the others were the best.

I had heard so many good things about Dr. Sherer. My first impression him was great. The whole office staff are all very understanding and care about you. He talked about the risk of the surgery and what could happen. I would rate him a 10. He covers every thing. Most important, He is a good Christian Man. That is the one thing in a doctor i was looking for. Love of the LORD.

My initial visit with Dr. Stahl went extremely well. He seemed very interested in me as a patient and was willing to stay as long as needed to answer all my questions. I am very excited to have chosen him as my surgeon and have every confidence in him and his staff. Dr. Stahl takes time to go over the pros and cons of the surgery both risks and successes. He also stresses the importance of aftercare. I would rate him a 10. Cahaba Valley Surgical has a wonderful, friendly staff. They seem to genuinely love their job and care for their patients. I would highly recommend this group if you are considering WLS.

My first impression of Dr. Sherer was that he was a very intelligent man. My opinion of his hasn't changed. Dr. Sherer's office staff has been pleasant and helpful anytime I called. Dr. Sherer is a knowledgable surgeon and also a spiritual man. Dr. Sherer goes over aftercare and what to expect and answers all your questions. He is very patient and lets you talk to him without seeming as if he is hurried. He emphasizes that this surgery isn't a fly by night thing, it is a lifesyle change that must be followed for continued success. Dr. Sherer went over all the risks of surgery as well as the risks of continued obesity. Overall I would rate Dr. Sherer as a 10. I haven't completed surgery yet but my father in law used him for a different type of surgery. Dr. Sherer is an awesome Doctor and awesome man. I know that God placed him in my life. When I went for my 1 year update visit, Dr. Sherer saw me and was so very helpful in asking ME questions. He gave me information that was and still is very helpful. He is a very thorough Physician and such a professional at everything he does. I am 20 months out now and I have had no trouble with my surgery. Recently I have had some sharp pains in my left side. They are always so good to return my calls. I would recommend Dr. Sherer to anyone considering WLS! H-E-L-L-O~~ Can we say WONDERFUL! Dr. Stahl is great! He has always taken his time with me, listened to me ramble, and answered all of my questions!!! He was great during surgery as well. He left no bruising (okay one tiny bruise, but I cannot even see it) and no pain---gotta love that! He completed my surgery with no leaks or icky gas pains! I would and WILL recommend him to anyone! Not one negative thing about him. His office staff was great! My only issues with his office is that I was told $9,000.00 for cash pay and when I got to the hospital it was $10,050.00, I just paid it, because I wanted to be skinny! Holli
