Dr Schram was a total sweetheart. He was caring and took his time with me even though I had all the inforamtion I needed(mom had surgery two years ago). He still made sure I didn't have any questions. I just met him for counciltation so I don't have any other impression about him. His staff was wonderful...They were so friendly and so nice. I have found the best group to be a part of. The only risk he really expressed to me was the Lap over open and he said it was 10% higher risk for Lap, so he recomended the open. I would rate him a number one in everything. He is awsome and I have no fear letting him do my operation. I would say if I had to pick one over the other I would say surgical competence because you don't want a dummy opening you up and reconstructing your insides. Bedside manner is good too, but the surgical competence is much more important to your well being. I don't have much to worry about with Dr. Schram he is great. Just my opinion and I wouldn't have anyone else do it!

Dr. Foote... what can I say that has not already been said? Anyone who has had him as a surgeon already knows he is an excellent physician! Especially when it comes to his "bedside manner".
When I met Dr Foote for my surgical consult, he was very informative and thorough. He did not leave one question unanswered and was truthful, never making me feel uncomfortable because of my obesity.
Dr Foote and his staff place a large emphasis on the aftercare of WLS. Because it is a life change not just a physical change.
Both surgical competence and a physician's bedside manner are a must. Dr Foote has the knowledge to perform Laproscopic RNY's and also has a bedside manner which portrays he is just excited as the patient is to have the WLS.

Dr. Schram appears to be very knowledgeable and caring. He has performed over 1000 open RNY’s and 35-40 LAP RNY’s.

I first ment Dr. Foote at a semminar, I was going to have surgery done by a different doctor. And I got invited to this and went, I was very impressed they had everyone from office there, other doctors, diet. ph therp. anyone you want to ask a question too. It took about 4 hours for everyone to talk. and then we got to ask questions. I was so impressed. I changed over to Dr. Foote. I have now went threw doctor elevation, Sik elvation, and meeting Dr Foote and talking with about surgery. smiling now I am waiting for insurance and all that junk.
When I ment with Dr. Foote, I asked many questions, I am very impressed by office and experience. And that they have had a very good sucess rate. I would rate the Doctors and Office and even all the help in office a 10, all very very nice and answers all questions...

His credentials are good. His office manner is great. His reputation is the main reason I picked him. He really doesn't look old enough to have the years of experience he has. Maybe I'm just getting older. He was pretty up-front about problems he has dealt with. His staff seems to be over-busy maybe? It seems to be a large practice with a lot going on. Will be able to give a more informed opinion after my surgery.

He requires you to follow his ordes at all times.

Yes he has a strutured aftercare and support program.

He address the risk to me and answer all questions I had about the risks.

I would rate him excellent.

Both surgical competence and bedside manner makes a great doctor.

When I met Dr. Foote in person, I was slightly nervous, my nervousness deminished through our meeting, as he has a wonderfull bedside manner. Dr. Foote is a kind, soft spoken and calm person. He took the time to answer my questions with great care and attention to detail, leading me to believe in his surgical competence! Dr. Foote made sure to inform my husband and I of all complications and risks of WLS, as well the type of things I can do to decrease those risks.

MMPC emphasizes the importance of a structured before & aftercare program. Combining: Behavioral, Medical/ Surgical, Educational, Nutritional, and Physical support, before, during and after your WLS.

The office staff is busy! I however believe that each person joins together to serve everyone to the best of their collective abilities.

From 1-10 (1 being poor quality & 10 being excellent quality), I'd rate Dr. Foote and the Staff at Michigan Medical PC Center for Health Excellence a 10! I can only pray that my experiences with them remains the same throughout my journey! (I'd consider myself blessed.)

My first impression of Dr. Foote was that he is very young, but I was reassured by his knowledge and compassion. He has been doing gastric bypasses for almost two years and has done over 350 cases!! I had specific questions I wanted to ask him, the majority of which he answered before I ever asked them. I had concerns about the laparoscopic approach since I had heard there is a higher complication rate. He explained there may be a slightly higher rate of certain complications, but there is a significantly lower rate of other complications. The thing that won me over to the laparoscopic technique is that the procedure can be done through six small holes with less overall pain, a shorter hospital stay (he said about 80% of laparoscopic patients go home in one day), and a shorter recovery time (about two weeks). He was honest and told me there is about a 5% chance that I would need to have the "big" incision, but I know that he will do his best for me. The office people at MMPC are very friendly although I did have to wait a little while in the waiting room. Overall, I give Dr. Foote an "A" and I give his office a "A-".

I first met Dr. Foote when my sister had her surgery. He is young and very good looking! I can see where some would be embarassed and not want to talk about being obese with him! He erases any silly feelings almost right away! He is down to earth and professional. He is bilingual--He can talk Dr. talk and he can talk like a normal person too. I got to know Dr. Foote when my husband got so sick after his surgery. An associate of Dr.Foot's performed the surgery, but Dr. Foote was the one on call when my husband got so bad. This man is dedicated to the patients at MMPC. He was very caring and honest with me about Phil's condition. His attentiveness impressed me. I was actually concerned about him getting enough sleep so he could still be the great Dr. that I know he is! I am sure his family misses him when he takes time to attend to all of his patients. I love my husband more than anything. I dont know what life would be like with out him. Dr. Foote and a team of Doctors made sure I would never have to find out. My husband is healthy and getting skinny!----I trust Dr. Foote with my life. I know what he is capible of. I just can't say enough.......
