I have met with Dr. Foote 2 times so far. The first time was at orientation, and he did a very good job of explaining the surgery and was more than willing to answer the questions of all the potential patients in the crowd. The 2nd time I met Dr. Foote was at my initial physical where he explained the surgery once again, and took a great deal of time to explain everything to me. Even though he is young, he really impresses me as someone that knows he stuff. At no time did he make me feel bad about my weight like so many other doctors do.

I felt comfortable talking to him. He seems very thorough and understanding.

Office Staff is busy but helpful. I haven't seen the dietician yet but called her today about an allergy I have. She checked all the before and after surgery food products for this food and called me back to tell me which products it is in. She was very pleasant.

I didn't dislike anything about him.

I haven't gotten far enough yet to know if he emphasizes aftercare.

He told my husband (who is having the surgery also) and me any risks there might be.

Very nice, kind and competant.

Surgical competence is definitely most important but bedside manner help so much as I seem to be able to pick up on any indifference or unkindness in people.

My first impression is that Dr Foote is young. He seemed very personable and knowledgeable at the surgical orientation. When I met him in person, he explained the surgery and risks in an easy-to-understand manner. He didn't seem like he was in a hurry and answered a couple of questions I had. I never felt judged or like he was uncomfortable talking to me.

The office staff at the front desk needs to be more attentive to people when they first arrive. I stood at the reception desk for a couple of minutes before my first appt without being addressed in any way while 4-5 people chit-chatted about personal things. It was only after I had given up and started to walk away that I was spoken to. All people need to be addressed upon arrival and personal/unprofessional discussions need to be stopped in the presence of a customer (patient).

The program, including orientation, seems to be well put together. After care is stressed a great deal. This is addressed in orientation, in clinic literature, and in discussions with the behaviorist and surgeon.

I have not been operated on yet, so I cannot address an overall rating or surgical competence. His bedside manner seems to be appropriate--reasonably concerned and compassionate.

I found Dr. Schram to be very knowledgeable and compassionate. He took the time to explain everything and answer all of my questions. I would give Dr. Schram 11/10!

Dr. Foote with MMPC is a fantastic surgeon. His honesty, candid discussions really helped prepare me for surgery. He took the time to talk to me, answer qestions, and didn't hesitate to discuss the risks involved. The staff at MMPC are great! I love the dietitians! I would rate Dr. Foote and the staff at MMPC a 10+++++. I am so glad that BTC turned me down and my niece referred me to MMPC, it couldn't have turned out better. I truely have nothing negative to say about Dr. Foote or MMPC. God bless them for saving my life.

I thought dr foote was very nice, and explained things to you very well. He treated you like a person not a number, his hole staff did, they took you in and talked to you answered all your questions very nice.
What future patients should know about him is he is very young looking but he knowes alot about the surgery, and his profecion.
He emphasizes after care v ery much tells you he wants you to come back and do all your visits.
He dose tell you all the pro's and the cons of the surgery, he is also very blunt on all the risks involved, and where his office stands on the problems of people and that most of the problems that were found were in result, of the pacients. Not the surgern.
I would rate him as very good to talk to and he listnes very well, i have not had surgery yet so that is about all I can say.

Dr. Foote is very nice and kind, also honest and informative. MMPC staff was great, they also have a program with dieticians and behavioralists on hand. The hospital staff was fine, but I had to call the nurses several times on 3 different occassions to come into my room and help me with various things. But all in all Dr. Foote was great, I have had no complications at all. GREAT JOB!

Many people say this, but he is young. I don't think that is a negative, just different from some of the other dr's I've heard of. The first thing that struck me was how tan he was. This may seem odd but that is truthfully what I noticed first and I wondered if he had just returned from vacation or was tanning. He is very polite and thorough when he explains the surgery and risks. I felt a bit rushed during our meeting but after thinking about it realized that it may be due to the fact that he probably gives the same information to so many people that it is routine now. He did take as much time as needed to answer any of my questions.

The staff at MMPC has been very nice as well. There was some odd vibes from the internist that I met, but he was not forwardly rude or disrepectful. The behavorist I met was nice as well.

Dr. Foote was very upfront about all of the risks and told me what happened in the cases where someone had died.

Each person I met stressed the importance of my change after surgery. The behaviors I need to think about now and how to work to change them so my long term weight loss is 100% successful. I have not heard the details about a structured aftercare program, but they do have supplements, check ups, and support groups. The only drawback for me is the disance I live from the facility-9hrs. I will change this post as I get more info once the surgery is scheduled.

I feel very secure with my choice. I rate both Dr. Foote and MMPC very highly overall and would recommend them to anyone looking into the surgery. Bedside manner and surgical competence are very important to me, but I would rather have a skilled surgeon that a very polite one.

I had the best doctor/surgeon, Dr. Jon Schram. He was caring, sensitive, and professional. Everyone has treated me like gold.
