My first seminar at MMPC was with Dr. Foote. I was impressed by his enthusiasm and his confidence. I chose him (out of 3/4 doctors) because I just liked him the most. rnThe staff is pretty great. It's a very busy office and like all offices, you get some amazing staff and some staff that is not as enthusiastic about their job. The nutritionists are all very well informed and the exercise therapist is absolutely wonderful. rnrnDr. Foote, I think, did an amazing job. I haven't thrown up onces or had problems/complications with anything. I didn't see him much after the surgery as it's a pretty large office and he has many patients. I wish he was more personable, but I think to find a very skilled surgeon is enough. Can't have everything.rnrnMMPC is a superior place. They make sure you are very well educated on the surgeries. They prepare you well and have food products for the 2 weeks prior and post surgery. I'd highly recommend them to anyone.rnrnOne thing is that I was slated to have the Duodenal Switch but Dr. Foote informed me that if it wasn't completely possible, he'd do the sleeve. Afterward he assured me that with determination he was confident that I'd lose the weight I wanted without going to the second stage of the DS. Going great thus far, but only time will tell.

Dr. Schram is a great doctor. He is personable, says a prayer with you prior to going into surgery and makes sure you understand what he is doing. I just had to go back and have my gallbladder out and I choose Dr. Schram for this as well since he knew what he did with my RNY - I felt safe.rnI had my surgery at Barix clinc in Ypsilanti, MI. and it was a wonderful place. All the nurses were outstanding.

I had surgery on May 22, 2002 with Dr. Foote. He has a wonderful personality and a very encouraging attitude. I can't thank him enough!

He answered every question (and there were lots) thrown at him. Then he brought in someone who had the surgery to talk to me as well. The day of the surgery my mother was impressed because he asked to say a quick prayer with me. The appointments go quickly but he does not rush nor does he brush off questions or concerns. I find him to be an excellent doctor:knowledgeable and good bedside manner.

Dr. Schram is the sweetest man ever. His welcoming smile and gentle nature is so overwhelmingly wonderful. He took the time to go over everything with me in detail in the beginning and even throughout the surgical process was kind and thorough when addressing issues regarding my surgery. rnrnDr. Cam (I think that's how it's spelled) works with Dr. Schram and I did have a couple of encounters with him, not only at the Barix Center but on the phone during post-op week 1. He is nice but is very \"to the point\". He definitely cares and ensures that you are safely moving along. Dealing with Dr. Cam was probably my least favorite experience. He did nothing inappropriate (other than barged in my room post-op day 1 and even on a PCA drip I almost jumped clear out of the bed... he just scared the peaches out of me), he always answered promptly and did whatever needed to be done but I say he was my least favorite because he just isn't Dr. Schram. He's just more \"to the point\" about things...lol. However he's a great doctor as well! Everyone has a different approach, this I know well...because I am a nurse! Dr. Cam still gets the job done well and is very concerned of even the smallest detail after surgery...he just has a different personality.rnrnI have nothing to say negative regarding Dr. Schram. He is perfect! He looks to the Lord for strength and guidance prior to surgery which I think is phenomenal. After talking with me and ensuring that I had no questions or concerns.... just before surgery he said, \"Let's say a prayer.\" And that's just what we did. He came beside me and held my hand and we went to the Lord in prayer for strength and guidance and good outcome. I have a great deal of respect for him because of that. rnrnMy incisions look absolutely great. I had the laparoscopy roux en Y done. He did an AWESOME job with no complications thus far. The whole group there at the Barix work together to ensure that you are moving along well. They return calls very quickly if you have any questions or concerns and are just all around AWESOME!rnrnThe program set by Dr. Schram is very easy to follow and understand. There is a great nutrition class that you attend 2 weeks prior to surgery as well. You are provided with a great follow-along-book that guides you and is geared just for YOU! rnrnI give Dr. Schram a 20 out of 10!!! He is perfect! I give the whole experience with the Barix a 10/10 and not to mention the great staff at the Barix. All that I encountered had EXCELLENT bedside manor and were very caring and attentive. I highly recommend this surgeon and facility!

Dr Schram was wonderful. He made me feel right at ease. My husband had the surgery done a month before I did. Dr. Schram was good in communicating with me in regards to my husband. He was friendly and he prayed with me before surgery.
