Dr Schram was the most compassionate doctor I have ever met. He immediatley put me at ease with explaining absolutely everything to me and his bedside manner was amazing!! The staff that they have at the Ypsilanti, Michigan Barix Clinic are very good at their jobs and they never had me doubting the surgery or my choice to have it done at their facility. Dr Schram and the Barix Clinic are a 10 out of 10 in my books and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic surgeon!!
To date have met him once at the consultation in Holland: First impression a dedicated, expert, that wanted to get the job done and do it right! He seemed in a hurry on our one on one, but by direct eye contact, I knew, he knew that I knew why I was here and I had already made up my mind with the knowledge behind me. rnrn2/13/08~~~~Wonderful Doctor. Prays with you before surgery, asks if you have any questions, very considerate. Dr. Schram even found my husband wandering around trying to find me and took time out of his busy schedule to show him where I was at.rnWhat a good good person....rnrn4/18/08~~~Have to say I love him!! He is quick, efficient, and wants to see that I get to that 'sweet spot' asap. Fills every two weeks. I have had absolutely no problems.rnrn5/1/08~~~There are not words that can exemplify his total devotion to his patients. He is aware of each and every one. Although he shook my hand and told me he was proud of me, I am more proud of him and his practice.
I LOVED Dr. Schram... Very personable and kind. He truly became a doctor to help people and has found his niche. I am a spiritual person and I found it awesome that he 'prayed' with me right before we went into surgery. His staff is also amazing. I went to the Barix Clinic in Ypsilanti, MI and can honestly say I was treated with so much respect, love and concern. My well being was their focus. I would rate Dr. Schram as a 10!!! Plus a 10 goes to the Barix Clinic and all of their staff!! Wish I could have stayed there longer (even though I was in for 3 days). I don't have anything bad to say or anything that I disliked at all. Only good things to say... except for recovery... well, that's how it goes! Okay, here is the only negative thing I can say... my surgery was delayed a couple of hours because they got behind schedule... but I understand that it happens sometimes. I was just starving while I had to wait. Haha!
Dr. Foote seems like a great guy, good sense of humor. rnrnThe office staff have been real nice. I did have to ask lots of questions because it seems that they don't go into too much detail about things.
I really like Dr. Pooplawski as he was up front and really listened to me and with my husbanc there answered all of our questions that we hadl.rnrnI had to cancell my surgy 4 differant times as my surgar was really to high to have my ssurgery and from my dentist I realised that it was from my teeth as I had infectioin in my gums and my upper teeth had to be taken out. I had never thought that it would of made a differance as I was going to my dentist every 3 months so that I could keep them. rnAfter that my sugar went right down and I was finally able to have the surgery.rnOn November 22,02 I was being preped for surgery and I noticed that I was having my galbladder out and they said \"yes\". My doctor met with me and said if I had any thing that I wanted to say and I just said to them to get me though it safely.rnrnMy doctor got me through it safely but he couldn't do my RNY as my galbladder was so bad that I had a galstone the size of a robbin's egg and my bileduk was as big as a quarter and its to be the size of a pencil.rnrnIt's going to be two months on Wed. and I haave one drain left from three. My doctor wouldn't do the surgery as it wasn't safe for me and I am very happy that he did that as some wouldn't of. He is trying to find aa specialist to do my surgery to repair it so that I can have my surgery soon but he's having a hard time as the sne that he thought that would do it said no. I am going to have to go to U of M when he finds one for me and 6 months after that then I can have my RNY. I love my doctor and I am glad that I have him. I don't want anyother doctor to do this as he use to do the type of surgery that has to do with a liver and he looking for one who does this often. My family doctor has faith in him too;so that's all the back up that I need. rnrnNEGATIVE: I was very unhappy to learrn that I didn't have the surgery but I was greatful that I was OK. I was very UPSET the way that I was treated as everyone was treating me as if I had had the surgery. When I told them what had happened then they asked if he \"open and closed me\" Well no he took out my galbladder and then was going to do the surgery so I had the same insisun as I would of had. THE NURSES NEEDED TO READ MY CHART AND TO TREAT EACH PATIENT AS AN INDIVIAUAL. rnAfter I got home from Holland; the BTC sent me a letter welcoming me to the otherside and I couldn't believe that they did that. I was still getting it. rnrn2Weeks later I went back down there for my check up and he took out one of my drains and I told him about what had happened and he gave me a phone number to call and complain. I did and she called me back twenty minutes later and was very nce. (there were other things that happened but I'm not going to get into it).rnI got a called from the President of the BTC the next day and he was very sorry aboutt what had happened to me and asked if there was anything that he couldd do and I said that I didn't want this to happen to anyone else. I told him that I wasn't even to go to his place but because of Insurance reasons this would be the one I would but if there was anyother way I wouldn't; he assured me that there would be changes as this was the second time in 3 months that someone didn't get there surgery and it happened. I just said for them to read the chart and that there was a lot of possitive things there too.
My first impression of Dr Foote was that he was very interested in what I had to say.rnrnMy impression of him has not really changed,he did my scope and was very caring.rnrnThe office staff for the most part are very nice.rnvery busy, one of the front desk ladies is very rnshort with people and I dont care for that.rnrnWhat did I like least about him/her..He is very busy so you cant really get to know him.rnrnWhat should future patients know about him.rnHe is a good doctor I belive he knows his craft very well.rnrnI have not had my surgery yet but will let others know about the after care.
i found my surgeon to be very personable. for my consultation he explained the surgery very well and used laymen's terms. i felt very comfortable with him right away. right before they took me in for surgery he came out to see if i had any last minute questions and then stopped to hold my hand for a word of prayer. i found this very comforting...even though i'm not a super religious person. he came to see me every morning after the surgery and the staff at the barix clinic were very kind and helpful. if i had to do it all over again i wouldn't change a thing
I am very impressed with Dr. Schram office staff. They are very friendly and helpful.rnrnThe best news I received was I don't have to go on any kind of diet before surgery. :) rnrnI have only met Dr. Schram once. He seemed to be very caring and professional and he has not lost a patient yet! That was awesome news.rnrn
He's the best!
