Well, I got to see Marilyn this week and spend some time with her. I stood in her room in Critical Care and rubbed her hand and talked to her. She actually opened her eyes a couple of times and looked right at me (the nurses and doctor say she doesn't really see me, but who knows??)! I told her how much we need her to heal and come home and join our post op group - and how her AMOS family was praying for her healing. The respiratory therapist came in and they're pressurizing her trach (?I think that's what they said!) and she's doing the majority of the work now rather than the machine. Marilyn's DH, Jerry, said they will be meeting with all of the doctors on Friday to discuss what the long-term implications might be. The two layers of muscle that were removed due to the bile leakage will never grow back - but the doctors also believe that her body will compensate for that (what an incredible machine God has made in all of us!!). So I don't know a lot more except that she's still "asleep" and they think she'll probably be in the critical care unit for another week or two. I'll update everyone when I hear from Jerry after his meeting on Friday. Thank you for continuing to remember Marilyn in your prayers! Hugs and blessings -
