I just spoke with Marilyn's daughter, Shonna, about the meeting that was held on Friday. The doctors were concerned about some of the long-term implications of Marilyn's complications, but a CAT scan has ruled out the possibility of any brain damage. There is some concern about possible swelling of Marilyn's spine at the base of her neck, but she was actually interacting with family and her caregivers on Friday! She's able to nod her head yes, but seems unable to shake her head no (but I prefer to think that she's just focusing on POSITIVE energy and has no use for negative anything!!), and Shonna reports that she was moving her legs, too. The current thought is that she will be in the Critical Care Unit for another four weeks. Our prayer is that her occasional lack of responsiveness is due to the large amount of medication she has in her system and some of the possible residual effects until they work their way out of her system. Thank you for continuing to support her and pray for her. Shonna and I talked about how encouraging it is to go to Marilyn's surgery page and see the words of encouragement. Shonna even said that Marilyn is receiving cards from people that they don't even know -- I know in my heart of hearts that those cards are from her AMOS family. Thank you for caring and for having hearts big enough to love those that you only know through this website. Hugs and blessings to all of you -- I am SO PROUD to be part of this family!!
