St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton Organization

I really liked Dr. Hong. He spent quite a bit of time talking with me. He answered all my questions, asked me a few and was kind and supportive. The office staff is pretty good. They are difficult before receiving all the paperwork and test results, but I think that's what they are supposed to do. They just won't give any appointments or information before they are ready. I believe the OR Clinic (Dr.s Patterson and Hong) are really great and I would highly reccommend the practice in general.

I would recommend Dr. Hong to anyone wanting Lap-WLS. I know many people have their heart set on Dr. Patterson who shares a practice with Dr. Hong, because she has more surgeries under her belt. Dr. Hong is a very skilled surgeon, who trained under Dr. Patterson for WLS. He is by no means a "beginner" as a surgeon, and is going to fast become as sought after as his colleague Dr. Patterson (who if you know her, wouldn't take just anybody into her practice).
I found him to be a good listener who gave me all the time I needed in my pre-op and post op appointments. He is a quiet mannered reserved guy, but is kind and respectful. No doctor arrogance with him. I was comfortable having my boo-hoo moment with him the second day after surgery, and I felt he responded to my pain management needs appropriately. He is really serious, which is O.K. with me as far as a surgeon goes. I give Dr. Hong an A+.

Dr. Hong is very professional and easy to talk too. I was first introduced to him through an information session presented by the Oregon Clinic. He knows his stuff.
He has been in practice with Emma Patterson since January, 2004. I was originally all set to go to Dr Emma Patterson to have my surgery but there was a mix up at the Doctor's office and I was scheduled with Dr Hong.
The office personnel are okay - the same people as Dr. Patterson. I did not like the fact that they were so ready to blame the surgeon mix up on me when it was so obvious that is was their fault.
Once I got into see Dr Hong I was very impressed by his bedside manner - excellent. I think the thing that kinda worries me is that he does not have the experience that Dr. Patterson has but he has trained under her for a long time and they went to the same university.
Overall I think I am going to like Dr. Hong and will not mind going to him for the next twenty years for aftercare.
