UW Medicine-Valley Medical Center Weight Loss Surgery Clinic Hospital
I loved my stay at the hospital.. Everyone was on top of their game, and treated me so well. I am so happy about the decision to have my surgery at Valley Medical Centers surgicenter.. The Bariatric Unit was a God Send. Thanks to all the nursing staff and their help. Your the best.. you deserve a raise.. Hope to see you all in the future as a visitor, not a patient to thank you in person.. Sincerely Sarita Wines
Care was very good, but if you can have support stay with you 24 hrs, do.. They, hopefully, can advocate for your needs better--Example--I was to use incentive spirometer 50 times/hr --it was there, but srtaff didn't make sure I did it..
Same w beverages.
Also, I had complications and was confused for 2 days. My husband and friend watched me (and staff) closely and did what I needed done. PS It helps if one support person has medcial background....
The hospital itself was fine. There was no chair in my room that I could sit in, so I had to sig on the bed whenever I got up. The chair was too low, and I am not only large but tall and was unable to get down in to the regular chair. No effort was made to find a taller chair, they just said "oh well". As far as I know there were no problems with other departments.
The entire staff from Pre-op to operating room to recovery and post op care were so incredibly wonderful. My Recovery nurse even checked in on me 2 days later. This hospital exceeded every expectation of mine and havine dealt with medical professionals on a professional level they were outstanding, supportive and encouraging. The nurses and aids treated me like family. I could go on and on with compliments and pleasantries. If you are trying to choose between programs and if you start worrying about a bit of money or that Don't go WISH and Valley all the way. They have taken the time to train and work with their staff to help us all through a difficult procedure.
