Swedish Medical Center (COE) Hospital
My nursing care for the 24 hours I stayed was horrible. Nurses were fairly non-responsive, unhelpful with my CPap, not knowlegeable enough of my symptoms following surgery. The nurses did not find any urgency in calling the physician when I complained of shortness or breath, etc. I even had my night nurse stare at me while I cried and squirmed because I was having breathing difficulties.
Overall I was very satisfied. I had to return to the hospital the following morning due to an illness. I was admitted onto the PCU floor. I found that the rest of the hospital really could use training in the area of bariatrics. The Bariatric floor had it completely together, but the emergency room and PCU, needed a little more training (including the doctors), because I was prescribed medications I couldn't have. That was the main problem. Now there was no problem throughout the entire experience in regards to their responsiveness and genuine care. That part was an A+!
I have always been very happy with Swedish. My only complaint is if you have to go to or from the hospital after 5 or before 8, it is a long walk to the parking garage if you don't have handicapped plates. So for things like support group meetings, sleep apnea studies, etc. it can be a bit difficult.
