I met Dr. Dan at a seminar offered by the Summa Bariatric Center kn AKron, Ohio. After speaking to the entire group Dr. Dan took time to answer each question individually. I was impressed by the way he treated each question personally. Later that month I met him again at my first evaluation appointment. Dr. Dan was WONDERFUL. He answered my questions, he made suggestions. He introduced me to his \"team\". Each staff member was very nice and seemed genuinely interested in getting me started in the right direction. I was primarily interested in Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding but Dr. Dan and his teamm made sure I had an understanding about all of my options. I ultimately made the decision to go forward with LAGB. From the moment of my decision, the team at Summa became my personal cheersquad. They made my appointments, they encouraged me each visit, and explained exactly what I needed to do. Bev handled all of the insurance paperwork. She was very knowledgable. Everytime I called she was very personable and encouraging. I'll never forget the day she said...\"you're approved\". Then there is Jeff. What a great guy! He did all of the weigh-ins and vital checks. He reviewed my records carefully and made sure to let me know what I needed to do to stay on task (no gum). He also made reminder calls for all of my appointments. Ok...Robin, the dietian! She was very attentive to my personal needs. My first meeting with her was one on one. SHe carefully explained exactly what I needed to do to move forward. After the surgery, she came to the hospital to see me and answered any questions I had. She is very thorough in her teaching. My husband attended the teaching class a few weeks before my surgery. It was at this class that we met Noelle for the first time. Noelle is my case manager and what a great job she does! She spent an entire morning going over everything with us. We knew when we left exactly what to expect as I went through the Optifast program and prepared for my surgery. She was there the day of my surgery and the day after. She called to follow up with me when I got home from the hospital and continually encourages me to call her with any questions. That brings me back to my surgeon. Dr. Dan!! I can't give him enough KUDOS! He handled my case with compassion. He is personable and has a great bedside manner. He is also very dedicated and committed to his work. Although he is also a trauma surgeon, he makes it a point to never mix the two specialities. When it is Bariatric Surgery Day, that is his focus. It seems each of his patients are a priority to him. He took time to explain all the risks and benefits of the surgery in a way that was understandble to me and my family. I had the utmost confidence in his abilities going into the surgery. I just saw him for my 1-week post-op and I feel great! I would highly recommend Dr. Dan and his entire staff to anyone considering WLS. What a GREAT Team!!

As stated previously, I believe the night nurse (Jennifer)was better than the day shift nurse (Hee) on my floor. The care I had in the recovery room was FANTASTIC. I was kept in recovery for the majority of the day and the nurse (Margaret, I think) that cared for me was wonderful!

If you are looking for a kind, compassionate, caring surgeon...Dr. Adrian Dan is the ONE!!! Throughout my journey Dr. Dan and his wonderful staff were right there with me. I first met Dr. Dan at the informational meeting in March of 2008. I had already had an appointment scheduled for a consultation with him on March 26, 2008. It was at the informational seminar that I realized I was blessed with one of the best. My first one on one meeting with him was excellent. Dr. Dan took the time to speak with me about my options, the risks of surgery, and about how my life will change forever. It will be the teamwork of his staff and himself to help me make the transition forever...They are so supportive and I can not stress the point that THEY CARE ABOUT YOU!! You are not just another name on a file, you are a part of the team. And it is a great team to be a part of. rnThank you Dr. Dan; YOU ARE AWESOME

My name is Tabatha Cottrill. When I first met Dr.Adrian Dan I was so impressed with his caring and attentive demeanor that I felt as if I walked into my living room at home. It felt as though I was sitting with family. I know I could walk in there any day and be treated greatly. The staff/ office members are so terrific. They put forth all effort to make you comfortabe and to help you in any way they possibly can. From your first visit, everything you do or are going to do is laid out right in front of you. They supply you with a list of everything that you will need to do to qualiify for the surgery. They also give you a list of what you need to do to continue living healthy and smart for the rest of your life. Dr. Dan and his staff show how much they care by emphasizing how important it is to not only take care of yourself now, but to continue to take care of yourself after your surgery. The surgery is just the beginning of a better life. The aftercare is the part that keeps you healthy. They explain all risks and advantages of the procedure you are having. Dr. Dan and his staff hold nothing back when it comes to the risks of the operation. When you leave his office you will know every aspect of what is going to happen to you, whether you want to or not. Alot of people know how diffucult gastric bypass is and they all ask if I had to do it all over again, would I?. My answer to them is if everything was exactly the way it was the first time: The same physician: The same staff. The experince I had with Dr. Dan and his staff was above excellent . It has been two years since my surgery. I am in the best health of my entire life and I owe it all to the efforts of Dr. Dan and his staff. They saved my life!

Dr. Dan is one of the most caring individuals that I've ever met. Not only did he perform my laproscopic gastric bypass surgery, he also performed my gall bladder surgery 4 months later. During both surgeries he was very attentive and considerate to my feelings and my general well being. I would reccomend Dr. Dan and the entire Summa Bariatric Care program to anyone that asks.

My first impression of Dr.Dan was I felt totally at ease with him. He explained the risks of the surgery and also the risks of staying obese. This was the meeting I needed to make my final decision. I knew the surgery wasn't going to take place in a week, but didn't think it would take a year. Patience has never been my strong point, but the minute Dr. Dan told me to act as if I was training for a marathon and this takes time, that CLICKED. I took it a week at a time and a year later I was approved and had surgery. I can't say enough about Dr.Dan and his staff. They prepare you for everything and they defintely work as a team. I have had my surgery and to say I feel like a new person is an understatement. I love the follow up and support Summa's bariatric center gives you. I truly think if you have been dealing with the obesity issue this is a place you should visit. The surgery itself went smoothly and I had no bad effects after the surgery. I have a whole new healthy life and at the age of 52 it is only getting better. I hope this helps any person that is thinking of getting bariatric surgery. Take the first step and make an appointment with Dr.Dan. I know you will feel his support and caring the minute you meet him. Good luck! Sallya

Dr. Adrian Dan is a phenomenol surgeon and a real tribute to his profession. At first meeting, he is personable, caring, and compassionate about your situation. Over time, I discovered his compassion is genuine and he truly cares about helping you gain a whole new life. His office staff is AMAZING! The dietician and nurse walk hand in hand with you every step of the journey from pre-op to post-op. No question goes unanswered. My surgery was complicated but his dedication and determination made it a success. These are just the highlights. I could go on for hours and hours. I have had over 15 surgeries and hands down Dr. Dan is the best surgeon I have ever had. I would recommend him to anyone looking to have this surgery done. He has an amazing bedside manner and is highly competent. If you want the best, then call the best.....Dr. Adrian Dan.
