Ascension St. Vincent - Carmel Bariatrics Hospital
I have only met w/Dr Inman at my consult. She (and her partner) were both highly recommended by my PCP. So far I can say she is very competent and gives realistic answers regarding the surgery, outcome, and potential risks. Her office is very efficent and also very busy. It took 3 months to get my consult 6-26 and surgery is tenatively scheduled for 11-19.
06/05/01 - Dr. Inman breezed in and immediately got everyone's attention with statistics on the health risks of being obese. She then spent 90 minutes explaining what she does, why she does it, who she'll do it for (the whys and why-nots of that) and more information I could ever hope to remember. Fortunately, she included literature that includes the info. She and her staff can best be described as EFFICIENT. I did not feel rushed, but I was amazed at what was accomplished in such a short period of time. I'm very excited about her!
07/13/01 - I got my date today. November 7, 2001. I haven't spoken to Dr. Inman since the consultation, but have to say that her staff is TOPS! They have this down to a science, and so far everything for me has gone so smoothly, boom, boom, boom. Thanks to all the staff!
I was very impressed with her straight forward nature. I believe her to be a well capable surgeon. I am also gald that she does such a screening of patients, meaning she not all about $$. The staff is always very friendly, a little slow, but that may be due to impatience on my part. I want to begin my new life now!!
my first impression of dr. inman, was how very compadent she seemed to be. my impression of her hasnt changed. her office staff is very friendly and willing to help. she emphasizes aftercare by schudling you for follow up appts. q2weeks postop, in 6 weeks then q 3 months you are also required to meet with a dietian each time you meet with a dr. the risks of surgery was explained throughly as well as how they tried to prevent the possible risks.. i havent had my surgery yet.. but so far id rate her a 8.... surgical competence is better.. i am a nurse.. i deal with drs. being rude all the time and can live with it.. however if their not compatent... then thats another story
Margaret Inman MD is quite an impressive woman. I appreciate her confidence and the manner she presents information. She supports all the information she provides in the consultation with statistics and references. She offers many ways to gain additional information about WLS. I like the fact that she will not operate on just anyone; she feels strongly about selecting patients who can safely survive the surgery and benefit from at least 20 years of added life as a result. I also like her physician assistant, Kami. She also seems quite knowledgeable. I am reassured by both of these people since I am confident questions are welcomed and that I will get answers. Dr. Inman stresses that she is providing a tool for the patient to use and that it is vital to adhere to the program as defined by the dietician and also to exercise to achieve the results I desire. Dr. Inman was very specific and thorough about the variety of risks associated with the surgery. There is a structured aftercare program that was stressed. I will take surgical competence over bedside manner any day.
PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGABLE, AND CURT. SHE ISN'T VERY PERSONABLE, BUT SHE WON'T HAVE TO CARRY ON A CONVERSATION WITH ME DURING MY SURGERY. I JUST WANT TO LOSE THE WEIGHT AND LIVE TO TELL AB0UT IT. I FELT COMFORTABLE IN HER OFFICE AS EVERYTHING WAS "FAT FRIENDLY" I WOULD LIKE MORE PERSONAL TIME FOR QUESTIONS, BUT I'M INTELLIGENT TO RESEARCH IT ELSEWHERE. MY OPINION IS STILL OUT ON HER STAFF. I BELIEVE THEY ARE BUSY, BUT MANY TIMES MY PHONE CALLS WERE UNANSWERED. BE PATIENT AND DON'T LOSE HOPE. FROM CONSULTATION 9/22/01, TO DATE, I WAS SCHEDULED FOR SURGERY ON 7/11/01. I'M SCARED (A LITTLE) , BUT EXCITED (A LOT!!!!) THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF MY NEW LIFE AND I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO BEGIN LIVING INSTEAD OF EXISTING!!!!
