Ascension St. Vincent - Carmel Bariatrics Hospital
Have attended the initial group meeting with Dr. Evanson. He makes a good first impression, although he does appear young. He works as a trauma surgeon at Methodist Hospital, so he obviously has fine surgical skills. Surgical risks were discussed and any and all questions answered. The office staff seems nice so far. The aftercare program seems very comprehensive. Looking forward to getting approval and getting started.
Had some trouble with Recovery nurse who was new and didnt know she could me a high dose of pain meds, so my pain level was at about an 8 still 4 hours after surgery. Had to ask a few times for a fan, and a cot for hubby but overall that was due to short staffing.
I can't complain at all about this hospital.
My consultation with Dr. Inamn was 8/27/02(I think). She was very nice, straight to the point and very thorough. Her staff was very nice and helpful. Vicki who handles the surgery stuff in the office has been great. She has always been upfront and too the point but also pleasant. Dr. Inman has great reviews and I have no doubts about having her do my surgery!!
Private rooms were great. Staff
very friendly. Only bad thing happened
was I had a good iv and ready to go
home when someone said it was ordered
that I get a hookup to a vein near my
heart - afterwards no one seemed to
know who ordered it. I could have
stopped it and stayed another day in
hospital to find out who ordered it.
So I went ahead with it and insurance
paid for unnecessary procedure and a
risky one also.
I was a little disappointed when I arrived for my consultation and found out it was with Dr. Inman's PA. The consultation lasted maybe 5 minutes then everyone listened to Dr. Inman speak about obesity and the different types of surgery. I felt Dr. Inman was very thorough in educating us and very knowledgable. I look forward in researching more about the surgery and consulting with Dr. Inman.
