Very thorough, intelligent and knowledgeable. she and her staff did a very good job in painting a picture of life after surgery so there were no big surprises. It helped to be able prepare oneself for the adjustments required so that there is less shock mentally and emotionally.
I would have liked to seen Dr. Inman more than I did but since I was in during Thanksgiving time, I guess that's tough for everyone.
One problem I did have is with the trach I have due to sleep apnea. It was necessary during the operation to replace the uncuffed tube I noramally wear with a cuffed one so it would'nt come out. After the operation, I complained of difficulty breathing with the cuffed one still in and asked that it be replaced with one of my regular ones (which I had brought with me.) My breathing was so contricted that I had to have oxygen with me to walk the halls for my exercise. It took fours of my asking before a doctor finally changed out the trach tubes. After that I could breathe much easier, walked faster and no longer needed oxygen to walk. Sometimes I wish doctors would stop and listen more to what you are telling them, or that the nurses would be a little more agressive in conveying a patient's concerns to the doctor.
Walking has helped a lot and variations from the prescribed diet plan are illadvised and sometimes painful. My advice is follow the instructions given as closely as possible and you will be much happier with the results.

My first impression of her was that she was a very confident Dr and was very good at what she does.
It did not I still hae the greatest respect for her! She is kind, encouraging and a perfectionist.
Everyone has been very friendly and contacted me back in the same day I left a message.
I wish I could of seen her more after surgery.
She is big on the aftercare she will continue to see you throughout the first year and anytime thereafter as we wish.
There is a structured aftercare program of which you must attend support group meetings, visit the dietitian, and see her on scheduled appointments. She also stresses exercise.
In her consultation she will hand you a sheet that list all of the surgery's commplications and she does not butter coat things she will be honest and straightforward about things!
I would give her a 8.75 over all and the only reason it is lowier is because I would have liked to see her more after surgery as far as her perfessionallism and surgical ability she is much higher.
I like both surgical and bedside manner I liked that she was a well rounded surgeon which meet all of my needs.
MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. INMAN WAS THAT SHE SEEMED TO KNOW HER STUFF! SHE WAS TO THE POINT AND NICE. HER OFFICE STAFF HAS ALWAYS BEEN KIND TO ME AND ANSWERED MY QUESTIONS EVEN WHEN I CALLED SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO EITHER NERVOUSNESS OR JUST FORGETTING WHAT THEY HAD SAID. I HAD HEARD MANY PEOPLE SPEAK HIGHLY OF HER AND THAT HELPED ME OUT ALOT.
My first impression of Dr. Evanson was that he was REALLY young - however after the 1 hr group meeting where he describe the procedures and shared his own personal correlations, I am glad I have a young sugeon who is up on the most current procedures. I havent had much contact with the office staff as of yet - but the few encounters have been pleasant. Dr. Evanson has been doing this for 6 years now and is in a practice with two other surgeons who are highly qualifed and well liked. He has had no deaths. The program has an extremely structured aftercare and he is aware and has attended all the support groups available through this program himself. I received a form that explained all the risks of both the surgeries he performs. Overall - at this point - I would rate him an 9. That question will be better answered at a latter time.
I had initial consultation on 11/18/02. Dr Inman's presentation of facts is thorough and direct. You can be sure she has been through this a lot, but is still able to be patient enough to allow everyone new to the process the time to absorb the info and ask questions left somewhat unclear or to cover questions that may or may not be true.
My youngest daughter (16 yrs) felt much better after the consult. I liked her confidence, but the WLS web site has so much info that I was not unaware of much when I went in. Having my daughter feel confident in my decision was a big deal for me.
I am waiting now on a date. Was originally told it would be two weeks, but at 2 wks, I called and was told they were quite behind and it may very likely be 2 more weeks before I get a date.
I think perhaps in consultation they should give us an idea how long a wait we are in for if everything goes as planned.
My first impression was she was a great person and knew what she was talking about. My impression has not changed since then. Her office staff is very friendly and very helpful. I like everything that I know about her. She is very capable doctor. She emphasize after care greatly. She even gives you a quiz so that she is sure you know what to do. Yes, a big booklet on what and how you are to do things. She tells you that you are at high-risk from the beginning. I think that she is an excellent doctor. Both her surgical competence and her bedside manner are great.
