This program is amazing. Its like the hospital was built for this surgery. Anyone in this area should use this hospital.

I liked Dr. Evanson immediately. He was straight forward, but kind and caring. I also thought he about 16! :) He looks very young. Dr. Evanson's staff are all very thoughtful people. I never encountered anyone who wasn't just as nice as they could be. The aftercare I received was wonderful. I had some complications after surgery and Dr. Evanson never left me hanging, he was always right there by my bedside or on the phone in a flash. He doesn't try to sugar coat anything about the surgery. He is very straight with you about what to expect from yourself and what he expects from you as a patient. If you are looking for a surgeon who has great surgical comptetence as well as an awesome bedside manner then you should meet with Dr. Evanson.

He did a great job! Said the surgery took less time than her expected. The only thing I didn't like was that he did not stop by to see me after surgery.

When I first met Dr. David Diaz, I felt comfortable, and at ease, something inside me told me he was going to be my surgeon. When I met with him the second time, there was no doubt on my mind I was going to be in great hands. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Diaz and his staff. They have all been so wonderful and caring. At the hospital he was on top of everything, came to see me everyday as well as his nurse. Basically, I highly recommend my surgeon to anyone that is thinking of having Gastric Surgery.

St. Vincent is the best of the best. From my surgeon, hospital stay, pre op testing to the dieticians. The most professional and efficient hospital I have ever seen. St. Vincent even has their own bariatric wing.

My first impression was WOW he is young! He was very knowledgable in the field of weight loss. I had 30 questions prepared and he answered all but two in the general seminar he gave. He was very compassionate towards his patients and showed genuine concern about them...that truely amazed my husband and me. You do not find many doctors like that. His staff were also very nice and helpful. He is point blank about what he expects of you and what he will give back in return. He wants you to be sure of your decision so he leaves nothing to the imagination...which is really good. He explained every procedure and the risks invovlved but like he said there are "risks" with any operation. His surgical competence and his personality was a plus and won us over. We feel that I am in excellant hands!!! On a scale of 1-10, 10 being highest....I would rate Dr. Evanson a 20+ and also his staff!!!!!

This is based on my own personal experience with Dr. Evanson and his staff.

I met with Dr. Evanson, April 2004. I was very impressed with his knowledge of the different types of surgerys. He was kind and understanding of those of us with weight loss issues. I found his lecture to be imformative and caring. He even added a touch of humor to it. My one on one meeting went well, he gave me good information and made me feel very comfortable. I am waiting to get approved, but look forward to meeting with him again before the surgery.

I think Dr. Evanson is great! When I knew my consult was with him (the bariatric center set it up, I didn't have a name of someone I wanted to use) I researched him on this site so I knew what to expect. I was impressed with his thorough-ness in making sure everyone in the presentation understood what the risks and benefits of the surgery are. In meeting him one-on-one I was very comfortable with him, he is very easy to talk to. I liked that I could relate well to him (and he to me) and that he is a trauma surgeon as well. That made me comfortable that he has lots of experience in fixing problems. There isn't anything I don't like about him. I have had no complications, no problems with foods or getting sick and I think this is due to having a very knowledgable surgeon and a very structured aftercare program. I would definitely pick Dr. Evanson again if I needed some kind of surgery.
