St. David's Medical Center Hospital
The pre-op care was great. They were informative and prepared my daughter and I for what was coming. However, after the surgery, my care was not good. I had one nurse that was good and the rest could have cared less.It was hot and I asked for a fan, never got it. My gown was bloody, and four hours later I finally ask them to get me a clean one. I had to tell them when the IV went out cause they didn't come and check it for a long time. Dr. Dillawn released me at 8:30 in the morning and pending the radiologist looking at the x-ray I could go. At 3:30 they were trying to put more IV in me and still didn't have a clue I could go.My daughter had this done at the same time and she had some problems with the nurses also. At one point, I heard the nurses discussing the difficult patients and even what room number was irritating them. The poor lady accross the room from me was moaning and they were fairly rude to her. I was crazy. I took my own IV out and told them I was leaving.
After that, they paid attention to me, and found out that I could go after all. (But I had to tell them) Then they took me out in a wooden wheelchair cause it was all they could find, and it wouldn't roll very well, and the male nurse had to hold on to it on the back to push it. He had very little control and he was bumping me into stuff and shaking me all over the place. It was quite embarrassing, my fat was jiggling and people were laughing. Needless to say, I laughed too, but I truly didn't feel like it. Oh well, it's over now.
