St. David's Medical Center Hospital
My nurses and attendants were all wonderful and very personable. I received personal phone calls several times after surgery to check on my care and progress. The only some what neutral response I received was from the xray tech doing my barium swallow series. She was rather blah and didn't seemed thrilled to be at her job and not very responsive to me as a patient. Everyone else was fantastic.
St. David's is an exceptional hospital! The staff was awesome...always polite with perfect bedside manners! I got a private room, which I was not expecting, but really appreciated! The only thin I didn't like was that my visitors had to pay for parking, and they stayed at the hospital for quite a long time! Parking should be free or be able to be validated for visitors of people staying in the hospital! Overall, I loved St. David's!
They have a bariatric center where all of my preop work was done. Deby is great! She scheduled everything to be done in one day for me, and worked with my crazy work schedule. I met Rebecca Posey, the program coordinator, and she is THE BEST! She made sure all my questions were answered, and visited me while I was in the hospital to make sure I was walking, and doing my deep breathing machine. The nurses were very nice, and you can tell they know what they are doing. The nurse taking care of me had her surgery at St. David's. They had all sorts of sugar free things right there in the refrigerator on the floor, so I never had to wait for a tray to come up from the kitchen when I wanted something to drink. I would recommend this hospital to anyone, and I'm proud we have a program of this quality here in Austin!
