South Bay Kaiser Hospital
My first impression of Dr. Zane was that he was straight forward in his character. He came in introduced himself. He made sure to explain each surgery option clearly and in detail without any biases. He discussed the after care required for each surgery. Then he opened it up for Q&A. There he shared some of his personal opinions regarding each surgery. He discussed the pros and cons for each surgery and then left it for me to decide. To Be Continued...rnMy Pre Op appointment was very informative and easy going. Zane makes sure to go over all the details with you and makes sure you understand everything. Dr. Zane is very forward thinking in his practices and reflects that in his reccomendations for pre surgery diet and aftercare.rnSurgery Day Dr. Zane did an excellent job of keeping all members informed. I mean from patient, family and etc. His manner and techinque I have no complaints. He even remembered his promise to photograph my liver. So I would say he pays close attention to detail and really provides individualize support.
My first impression is that Dr. Zane was very friendly and approachable. He was very knowledgeable and caring regarding which WLS procedure that would be best for me. rnrnHis staff was very friendly and outgoing as well as helpful.
I first saw my surgeon at a general surgery info session, he was the speaker. He was very straight to the point and business-like. rnrnWhen I met him in a personal appointment I was expecting him to be a bit cold... but I was pleasantly surprised. I found him very personable, warm and caring. He did not make me feel rushed in my appointment and was very patient with my long list of questions. I felt very confident after leaving and so did my mom who came feeling quite nervous. rnrnI was also very pleasantly surprised that he will be following up with me for 2 years. I felt that it will be really nice to have someone to \"be accountable\" to for all that time. He cautioned me to continue those appointments for 2 years because many people feel they don't need them and stop coming. rnrnHe covered the surgery risks and while emphasizes them also made me feel comfortable with them.
My first impression of Dr. Mun was that of a seasoned professional. He was very business-like in our first meetings and answered all of my questions thoroughly, but that definitely changed once I had my procedure done. He showed his caring side by visiting me every morning and evening that I was in the hospital. His office staff was great, always friendly and helpful. The aftercare program is very detailed and his nutritionist is very involved in your care. I felt very informed going into surgery and was very pleasantly surprised with the care I had at Faulkner Hospital. Although I had heard of Faulkner (and knew it was a part of BWH), I wasn't sure how a small hospital would be. I had an exceptionally pleasant experience there and would highly recommend Dr. Mun and Faulkner to anyone.
My first impression of Dr. Zane was I got another good Doctor and my impression turn out to be right. He is a very follow-up doctor I was told what to expect in surgery and after and was well taken care of by him and his staff at Kasier.rn
Very capable and intelligent man- open and honest about what I could expect from RYN. Exactly what I looked for in a surgeon!
Prior to meeting Dr. Belzberg (of Kaiser So Cal) I had made up my mind that I wasn't going to get my VSG. Much to my surprise, he was familiar and has performed the RnY, VSG, DS & LapBand! So after that everything was wonderful. Dr. Belzberg explained all the pros and cons of each surgery from his opinion. He is very matter of fact. I enjoyed my time and look forward to my surgery 11/26/07.
Well I like to call him famous Dr. Zane, when I say this he always blush. He is the 1st and only Dr. in Kaiser So Cali that does the Lap-Band surgery which makes him unique. He also does gastric bypass. My 1st impression of him was that he was very imformative and a down to earth person. My impression has stay the same and the staff and office are so helpful and very much there for you. For any furure patients of his, the only advice I can give is that he will let you know that the lap-band is not his 1st option he's more for the bypass, but he will leave the decision up to you. After care is the most importaint and he will put extra emphasize on that he make you follow the same plan as the bypass with some perks. I would rate him a perfect 10.....
Dr. Mun is an excellent surgeon, When I met him for the first time, he immediatly made me feel comfortable about the procedure, he is very imformative, and down to business. He is not very personal, but that doesnt matter when it comes to choosing a surgeon that is very qualified to do this procedure that can change your life. He is very professional and, the day after my surgery, he came to check up on me in my room, and made sure I was taken care of. His staff is excellent, and while i was in my room after surgery, I was glad and suprised to see that about every 10 minutes, there was either a nurse, or an assistant, or a doctor, that came in to check up on me. That is great aftercare! If you live in the Boston area, and having a hard time choosing the right surgeon, Dr. Edward Mun is EXCELLENT!!
